From the shots of Annie Oakley to William Tell, History takes aim at legendary feats of marksmanship with the competition series Top Shot, in which 16 individuals from around the country shoot it out for a $100,000 prize. Hosted by Colby Donaldson (Survivor), contenders face challenges inspired by real events, from Wild West gunfights to modern-day sniper missions. Every episode reveals the weapons, technologies, and tactics of a different era, while high-speed HD cameras capture each skillful execution with breathtaking precision. All will take aim, but only one contestant will walk away with the $100,000 prize, and title of Top Shot. Bonus disc includes over an hour of never-before-seen additional footage, contestant biographies, and elimination interviews that narrow the race down to the final two competitors.

Awesome Show
Warning: Watching this show will make you want to go to the range!I happened to catch the last couple episodes of Season One a few months ago just after it had ended (during one of History's marathons), and quickly started to like it. By that point in the show, there were only a few shooters left in the competition so I really got to see the best of the best. Then I started watching Season Two and knew I had to get more Top Shot. Also, my fiance hadn't seen Season One, but after (literally) forcing her to watch the first episode of Season Two, she was hooked, too. So we got it for a great price on Amazon and were watching it that weekend. The show itself is hard to describe. Sure, the shooting is what you really want to see when you first start watching, but after a time you really become invested in the competitors, too. I hate reality TV, and sometimes the in-house politics gets annoying, but once they get out on the range and display their skill, all that crap disappears for a while. I'd say it's split pretty even, half the show is goofy reality TV stuff, and the other half is shooting. After a while, some of the more annoying ones go away and you're left with a group of guys and girl that you can really respect.Essentially, if you're a weapons enthusiast in any way shape or form, or just love a good show of skill, Top Shot will not disappoint. Definitely worth the low price on Amazon.

Even my wife likes it...
My hobby is shooting sports. Found this DVD series online. Never saw Top Shot on TV. Took a chance and purchased the first season. I have watched about half of the episodes. The first few episodes have more "drama" than shooting in a manner that (I guess) is typical of a show in which contestants compete against each other while living together in the same house. Eventually the shooting gets more complicated for the contestants and more interesting for the viewer. The shooting is nicely filmed with super slow motion shots of guns firing and targets breaking which are really neat to see. The super slow motion alone makes the purchase price worthwhile for me. What I found really interesting is my wife's reaction to the show. I began watching the series alone -- I didn't invite my wife to watch because I thought she'd have no interest. She happened by and became very interested in watching the series. We watch an episode each night and she really looks forward to it. I will definitely purchase subsequent seasons when they are available.4-24-14 Update. Not only did my wife and I enjoy all 4 seasons of Top Shot on DVD, she keeps asking when season 5 will be available. Had to make do with watching season 1 again. Enjoyable the second time as well. In all four seasons some of the contestant drama and conflict is a little uninteresting but the shooting is always interesting! As a shooting enthusiast, this is my absolute favorite TV series.

Was able to re-watch these episodes with no commercials and pause or rewind if needed.

Not just for gun enthusiasts
We started watching this mid-way through the third season, so it was interesting to go back to the beginning. We actually bought this particular DVD set for my father. His memory isn't what it used to be, but his eyes lit up at each of the different guns that the competitors used. I'm not a huge gun fan (even though I grew up around them), but I find the talent of the competitors to be amazing. All of that being said, the most interesting thing to me was how much some of these big tough competitors acted like teenage girls! Some seemed more interested in shooting off their mouths than shooting the guns in the challenges. Grow up and be men, guys!!!

Cool weapons and competitions
A combo of marksmen competition and reality show. Although I find the format of Season 5 - The All Stars much better than the first four seasons, these seasons are still great to watch for the variety of weapons they have to master and compete with. Starting with 16 marksmen, it gets whittled down to a final 'Top Shot' by the end. From primitive weapons, to modern weapons, there is probably something you haven't seen or used yourself. The competitions themselves are innovative as well; some really turn the competitors on their heads. The 'House' drama aspect of the first four seasons is my only complaint about he show, but minor to me, since I watch for the competitions and weapons. If you like watching men and women shoot difficult targets, as well as some trick shots, and like seeing many different types of weapons, then I think you'll like these seasons.

LOVE THIS SHOW!
First, let me begin by saying I've never shot guns, but this show is still very engaging and fun. It's the best in reality shows--competition, real people, big egos, big heart, etc. It makes shows like Survivor pale in comparison. We missed seeing the first season on television last year, but caught the second season this year and really, really enjoyed it. The people on the second season (especially George, Gunny, Chris, etc.) just grab your heart and make you want to stand up and cheer by the season's end. We are only part-way through this first season, and our only regret so far is that it isn't longer, darn it. It's not as good as Justified (which is the best show on TV right now--to us) but it's still really a lot of fun to watch.

Not Your Typical Reality Show
This is not your typical reality show. Yes, its got its share of disfunctional juvenile personalities one of them surprisingly a former marine but it also has some amazing shooting performances from some of the best professionals in the world. AWESOME!Better yet I picked up some great tips even though I've been shooting for over fifty years.
