Entertaining and informative, but certainly not Glock deconstructed
Mr. Sweeney is a very good writer, and I enjoyed his breadth and depth of knowledge about Glocks and other firearms. However, I was disappointed in the rather superficial Glock content. The title suggested that it would be in depth, but it was certainly not. Chapter 6 was the only model-by-model comparison, but it barely scratched the surface. Mr. Sweeney draws on his experience as a gunsmith and competitive shooter, among other things, and I was surprised at his frequent warnings that the smaller Glocks would be a handful to shoot, especially in .40 S&W and .357 Sig. I own four Glocks, including the Model 27 (smallest .40 S&W), Model 32 (mid-size .357 Sig) and Model 30 (smallish .45 ACP). I am in my 60's, a pistol instructor, carry my Model 27 daily, and shoot regularly. I am sure Mr. Sweeney knows a lot more about shooting than I do, but I have no problem shooting any of these "pocket rockets," and nor do most of my students. Obviously they are intended for self defense, not target shooting, and we don't shoot all day. Bottom line: Excellent writer, not so excellent analyst, at least not in this book.

Too much filler...
I wish I had looked more closely at the reviews before buying this book. I agree with others who say the author has included a lot of non-glock information. For example, he has a whole chapter on the history of manufacturing. He has also included a lot of unrelated to Glock war stories and just out-right unrelated information to fill out the book.I can't say that I haven't learned anything from the book or that I don't know more about Glocks now but I haven't learned as much as I was hoping.

Patrick does it again
Patrick Sweeney writes well on guns and shooting, and this book on Grocks is most excellent. I have acquired two of them (a G19 for practice and a G30 for carry), and this book provided some factors I need to think about. One example if whether the magazines drop free or not (they were not designed to do so by Glaston Glock). My training has been with freely dropping mags, so this issue will be something to work on.A very useful book, well worth what I paid for itโฆjim dodd

In Depth and Thorough
Like everything that Seeney writes about he gets into the core of the subject. I'm not into Glocks but I wanted to read it just because I like the way he does a book. If this is your pistol you'll know it inside and out after you finish this book.

Sweeney does it again!
This is third book I've read by Patrick Sweeney and again he doesn't disappoint. Innovative and thought provoking, Mr. Sweeney's off the cuff style of writing makes his works a pleasure to read. I've learnt more about Glock in this book then I will ever need to know. If you've enjoyed Sweeney's other books, this one is a must read (along with the countless articles and reviews he's written for Guns & Ammo).

What a great book
Glocks were were never on my rader, but I shot a couple of them at the range a few weeks ago and wondered why I had been so closed minded to them for so long.I went to the net to get some info on them and there was Patrick Sweeneys book,Glock Deconstructed, what a edification about the Pistols and the company. A great read- twice cover to cover, now I own two Glocks. Carl Farmsworth Yakima WA.

Stick to the subject
There is no doubt Mr. Sweeney has forgot more about guns than I will ever know. However, please keep to the subject of the book. While reading I thought Mr. Sweeney may be a lawyer and was getting paid by the word. It seemed that the author would go off topic and talk about other weapons and their history and would never tie it to Glock. Please stay on target.

Pretty dry read.
This book is pretty dry for the recreational type shooter. I think it would be great for gunsmiths. The author goes into great depth, but his humor brings levity to areas becoming dull.

One of the best books on Glocks
If you want to know both the positive and negative aspects of Glocks, this book is for you. Would be better in hard back

Dissapionted
I was in great anticipation when I place my order for this book. Being a new Glock owner I really wanted to get to facts behind the Glock, complete breakdown charts, best maintenance practices, Gen comparisons and especially a comprehensive low-down on accessories available for the Glock enthusiast. And where better to find all this info, and probably more, than in this large 2013 release of "GLOCK-Deconstucted"WHAT A MASSIVE DISSAPOINTMENT!!This book is over 50% handgun history unrelated to Glock. This book should have been called "GLOCK - In the History of Handguns". Not only is this book very boring on its own merit, but a completed letdown if you were looking for an actual "deconstructed" book. If you are looking for anything technical about Glocks, or the world of available accessories, keep searching because you won't find it hear.
