Trilonium Unicorn Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Dosa Tawa 28 cm | 11 inches | Induction Compatible

It cracked after second/third use.Even though pre-seasoned, the dosa batter kept sticking on to it.And now the crack is such that the oil leaks through.When it cracked it had passed the return period.So it's just an expensive and extremely heavy piece of cookware lying around in my kitchen, and I have no idea what to do with it.

The dosas come out real well, thin and crispy. Like a true south indian dosa should be.However observed micro cracks after a few uses

I bought this tawa in 2020 with the purpose of replacing non stick tawas and use the healthier metal. It is an expensive and worst purchase. I seasoned the tawa before using and have been trying to make dosas on it without any success. My normal iron roti tawa is giving better results. I think it is bcoz its surface is not smooth. I have shared the close up of the surface. It is of coarse finish. Our roti tawas have smooth finish hence make good dosas. I dunno what to do with it. I feel this brand is palming off its poor product online as one can only know how good the tawa is after using. Till one doesn't use it a few times it is difficult to comment. It is a complete loss of money and now i have something occupying my limited kitchen space too.

I purchased this cast iron tawa recently having realised the health benefits of cooking the old way. The first word which comes having eaten a dosa prepared on this iron tawa is "yummy". Remembered eating my mom's prepared dosa. Having said this, first timers should do some preparation before using the product else the dosa will stick to it. This is my personal experience I am sharing.True it's pre-seasoned but you will need to wash the new tawa thoroughly with warm soapy water first. Then proceed to heat the tawa on gas stove until smoking hot. Switch off the flame and spread some cooking oil on the tawa allowing it to cool. Once it cools you should again heat it to smoking hot without pouring any more oil and switch the flame off. Allow the tawa to cool naturally. The tiny pores in the tawa will absorb the cooking oil. Now your dosa tawa is all ready to take some crispy dosa.

I have been using this for over 6 months now, and i see that there is a big crack in the Tawa. I use it almost everyday but surprisingly saw this now.

This is a really good buy . The product comes with a good cloth too that helps in holding the tawa. Always use the tawa on a larger burner. Easy to clean. When it's not to dirty just a good scrubbing with salthelps. I am absolutely loving this tawa. Writing this after using it for 2 to 3 months. Have made dosa, pesarettu, besan chila on this. And had no issues of sticking. Ofcourse it has to be maintained properly . Like not putting cold water on the hot tawa or not drying the water properly. It's a great investment

it got cracked on induction otherwise its good. the weight is around 2 kg. amazon replaced my pan and dispatched the other one. later seller modified the description n mentioned that its not induction compatible. though i fail to understand how iron pan can not be induction compatible. anyhow bcos of that i returned the 2nd pan as well. but if anyone does not want to use it on induction, then its very very cool pan. though it is slightly rough but i had tried an omelette on gas, its worked as perfectly non stick. the seasoning does not get scratched with steel ladle. i m giving 4 🌟 only bcos its not induction compatible.

This is my second product of Trilonium. After using the cast iron pan successfully for 2 weeks(and without all the fuss which a cast iron requires), I decided to buy a dosa tawa too. This also comes pre seasoned so it's easy to start using. The dosas came out crisp and delicious. Even my 13 year old said there's something good about this dosa. A must buy
