Works great
So of all the PH meters I have tried… so wish I would have bought this one first. It works well. Very well. I have not had to recalibrate this after many uses thus far. I just calibrated a full time apex ph monitor for my salt water tank and while doing so decided to check it against the Hanna. After many many uses I put the Hanna probe in the 7.00 and the 10.00 calibration fluid and it was still spot on. I do follow the directions though and after each use i dip it in RO and keep a bit of 4.01 calibration fluid or the storage fluid in the sensor cover.

easy to use
Incredibly easy to use! Th pH meter is much less cumbersome that others I have used in the past, and I appreciate the "long-necked" design. It arrived already calibrated accurately, but i did use the included solutions to calibrate it again -- a simple process which took only a minute. As with any pH measurement, one must wait several seconds to get a stable reading. This is no different than any other measurement of pH, humidity, temperature, etc. The meter has a convenient indicator when it achieves a stable reading.I measured a few control solutions of known pH and also compared against my old pH meter and pH test strips. I found the meter to be accurate and very easy to use!Is this a laboratory grade instrument with extreme accuracy? No, if you want that go out and actually buy a $1000 bench-top laboratory pH meter. This is a convenient value-priced handheld pH meter, which is more than sufficient when you simply need to get to a particular pH level within a few tenths. As with ANY pH meter, recalibrate occasionally to ensure accuracy, particularly if you are measuring extreme pH levels. If you're doing precise work, recalibrate every day, first thing when you get to the lab.

Good for the price if using infrequently
I use this at home for brewing small batches of wine. It is very good for the price, especially if you are only using it intermittently. This meter needs to be re-calibrated each time you use it. I would also suggest testing the endpoints in your calibration 3-4 time to ensure reliable measurements. Measurements can take upward of 15-20 seconds to stabilize. Do not expect this meter to respond quickly to pH changes if attempting to pH adjust with chemical additions.Having (previously) worked in chemical research labs for close to 15 years, I'm used to a more accurate and responsive pH meter. Given it was only $30, I'm OK with the extra effort and limitations. Considering that more reliable home use pH meters start at $130, this is a great starter for most hobbyist.

Great pH tester
I was looking for a decent pH tester at a reasonable price and I found it with this little Hanna tester. Great tester easy to calibrate and use. If you make sure that when storing it the cap that goes on the probe end has a few drops of solution inside. The probe needs to stay wet (it explains this in the instructions) I give this little pH meter two thumbs up. Glad I bought it!!

Does not work
I bought two of these pH meters. I calibrated one and then it kept reading my distilled water at 5.5. What is going on? Then the other one took over 5 minutes for a reading, then it sometimes errored out after I was taking a reading. This happend with a brand new pH meter that I was trying to calibrate. Yes, I have calibrated and used many other pH meters in the past.

Great Water pH Meter
I’ve owned many pH meters and all the Hanna products I’ve bought have worked flawlessly. This as well as their Groline soil pH meter are tools I use all season long in my garden and for my medicinal plants!

Accurate and Easy to use (updated)
UPDATE:Apr 2, 2022 Well the Hanna meter has failed to calibrate and is stuck at 6.5 PH. I cleaned the tip and soaked in storage solution per the instructions but the probe tip appears to be bad. I'm going to replace the probe tip one time and see how long it lasts. I removed one star for only lasting 2 months.ORIGINAL:For a $30 PH Tester this is a good buy and accurate enough for most home purposes. The specs claim that the meter has a +/-0.2 pH Accuracy and that is what I found. The meter comes with calibration solutions and a manual along with a protective cover for the tip. I like that the meter is long and narrow as it fits well into an Erlenmeyer Flask and that the meter has a replaceable electrode.I bought two meters (Hanna HI98103 & Milwaukee PH600) and performed a side by side comparison straight out of the box, calibrated them both and then retested. When using any meter make sure that the solution being tested is very close to or at room temperature, even though both meters have a temp range and auto calculate within their range, they are more accurate at room temp from what I have observed. Also, make sure to completly rinse the meter before and after each use, never wipe the tip with a cloth and store it wet using the protective cap. Just prior to use and during use I always let the meter sit in a glass of tapwater as the meter seems to do the best when remaining wet. After unpackaging, I placed both meters into tapwater from my sink. The Hanna read 7.4 and the Milwaukee read 7.1. Then I performed a two point calibration on both meters using Thermoworks Buffer solution at 4.0 PH and 7.0 PH, making sure to calibrate the 7.0 PH first. I did not use the provided test solutions, as I already had test solutions from a different meter.Initially the Hanna meter, when placed into the 7.0 buffer solution, read 6.9 and the Milwaukee meter read 6.4. So obviously you need to calibrate both of these meters before first use. I followed the directions provided by both companies and proceeded to calibrate each meter. The Hanna meter performs an auto calibration internally, while the Milwaukee meter must be calibrated manually with a small screwdriver. After calibration was complete, I placed both meters back into a tapwater solution and the Hanna meter read 7.1 and the Milwaukee meter read 7.3. Both of these meters appear to measure accurately within their stated specs.I purchased both of the meters on Feb 8, 2022 and they are still both reading accurately as of Feb 26, 2022 and neither meter has needed a recalibration. I use both of these meters at least 4 to 5 times a week and I check calibration once a week. I'll update this post if anything changes on the Hanna meter as time goes on.

Much More Accurate Than pH Strips
Glad I decided to go with this over pH strips. The strips are way off.

Accurate, but needs maintenance
Accurate, provided that it is calibrated and maintained well. I mostly use it to test the pH of creams, lotions, other skincare, etc. After every use, I wash the black part well under the tap with descaled water, without touching the probe, then I stir it into a tall and thin glass with deionised or distilled water, and I take it out of the water and shake it. I store the probe in a storage solution from another brand. The storage solution is not sold with the meter. The description should be improved to clarify how to use and maintain the meter.

Well made and works well. Nicely packaged and with clear instructions. A good step up from basic.
So far I'd recommend this as a good step up from the cheap meters. The instructions are clear, it's well made, uses a pretty standard CR2032 battery and comes nicely packaged in a sturdy box. I've not had it long but it works well and I am confident that if I look after the electrode it will serve well. Spares look to be easily available too. Seems good value.
