Take control of your Bed Bug problem with the eco-friendly ClimbUp The ClimbUp insect interceptor forms a barrier between floor and bed. Bed bugs approaching bed from the room will climb up an exterior surface and fall into the outer pitfall ring. Bed bugs climbing down from bed will be found in the center well.

Works Great, Highly Recommended, And a Product Suggestion
Clearly does what it's supposed to. We have wood floors so the carpet problem is not an issue for us. We had a bed bug problem and went crazy with exterminator services, cleaning everything, mattress encasement, new bed frame, adjusting closets/clutter, etc. After we treated the place a couple of times and decided to move back in (we stayed with my in-laws for a week and a half) we put these on all of our furniture. This was, admittedly, over-kill but with bed bugs, I'm okay with over-kill. So far, we have not seen any bed bugs in our place or in these traps but that's what we were hoping for. So...how can I give it 5 stars? Well, I noticed something very small in one on the second day of their use and found a tiny spider hanging out in the outer ring...and it couldn't get out. This proved to me that these suckers work and I'm glad that they do because they give us some peace of mind. They're easy to check and I do highly recommend them. Just know that this is not a bed bug solution at all. This is one of many steps that you need to take to ensure that you rid yourself of the problem and to guard against future problems. One suggestion for the people manufacturing these: Develop non-skid rubber pads for the underside. Prior to having these on our couches, we had those rubber non-skid pads that you can get at Home Depot/Amazon. Now that we need to use these, our furniture slides around and I want to make sure that it stays away from the wall and other furniture. This way bed bugs can travel from one thing to another. I don't know if a different type of model need to be made but I was thinking of a relatively thin piece of rubber with an adhesive on one side that could be placed on the bottom. Of course, the disc would need to go to the outer edge of the interceptor to ensure that the bed bugs can crawl up. This way they can be detected.

Bite-free from the day one
It works - no bugs are getting into the bed since I installed it. For this alone - 5 stars. How it works - bugs are climbing up the outer wall, fall in the trough, and can't get out - too slippery. They don't die, so yo have to empty it every morning (or every other morning), lifting heavy bed posts. It doesn't attract the bugs. The attractant is CO2 exhaled by human laying on the bed. They won't get caught during daytime unless you are in bed (and even then they won't come out of hiding in daytime unless there are too many of them in your home).Without food they can live one year in cold house and 2-3 months at room temperature. They won't multiply without food. So, if you don't let them feed on you (using these traps on beds, sofas and armchairs), and IF they won't come again from some place nearby, and IF you won't bring them in on your clothes and bags - they will be gone 2-3 months at room temperature.Useful tips:Following recommendations of others, I put 6"x6" pieces of 1/4" plywood under the trays to prevent plastic cracking on the carpet. You may sprinkle some DE in the trough, but most DE pours out when you empty the trays, and I didn't notice DE affected them much.Out of the box, re-coat the inner ridge with talcum powder. The way the trays are packed it in the box, ridges rub against one another so some powder might come off. Also, dust in your room will cover the talcum and make it less slippery, so re-apply it once a week or so.I threw away all infested items - old mattress (the bed is metal frame), area rug on the floor (they lived in the perimeter hem), old TV stand (new one is all plastic and glass). When replacing bed sheets, blankets, pillows and taking them from closet - heat them in the drier on Hot for one hour. They die at 130-140F - all adults and eggs. You may read that they die at 105F like in a hot summer without A/C - yes, but not all.Things that you can't heat, you may wash on Hot.Things that you can't wash, you may soak in bathtub for 1 or 2 hours - hot water is 120-130F but in cools down to 110-115F soon, and they need at least half an hour at 130F. Bathtub will kill adults - if not by heat, then by immersion. Some eggs might survive but mostly will be washed away. Repeat in a few days to kill newly hatched bugs.Soaking 24 hours at room temperature will kill all the adults, but not eggs. Soaking less than an hour at room temperature will hardly kill anything - though it will likely wash most of them out.2 weeks Update:After a few days I found some bugs under the mattress. Probably they got in when I was assembling the new bed frame, or when I put some things from closet on the bed. NEVER put on the bed anything that didn't go through washer/dryer or bathtub. Took metal frame apart, washed real well - inside - with boiling water from tea kettle, re-assembled the frame, and put traps on legs at the very beginning, so they didn't have a chance. Lubricated the bed posts with talcum powder.6 weeks update. No bugs anywhere for a week - not in the tray nor anywhere else. Disappeared. Science says they can live without food 2-3 months at room temperature. I "think" mine were weaker than average, or maybe have gone to other pastures.

I hope you never have to go through a bed bug infestation.
I don't want to say I like these, but if you have ever lived through a bed bug infestation, you know what I mean.I went to a hotel for a convention in early October 17, and before Nov I started getting strange rash-like breakouts. Soon the break out started showing up as breakfast, lunch and dinner lines. Then I new my 'rashes' were not caused by the new drug I was taking, and notified my apartment building the Wed before Thanksgiving so on that following monday I got the notice for the first spray and all that I had to do to get ready for it.I am disabled and had to call in help, so my family came and helped me bag up things, wash and dry everything in HOT, and keep everything in plastic. I am a vegan and trying to restrict my use of plastic, and it breaks my heart but has to be done, and this whole multi month crap, and I am so exhausted.I haven't slept well for almost three months, and my place is in disarray and is very hard for me to navigate. After the third spray I decided to get these interceptors and placed them on my six legged bed fame and the couch (only furniture now), and ordered a mattress inclosure, but that was back ordered after I placed my order! Well, after I had put a bit of Diatomaceous Earth (DE) in each and watched. Babies and adults in some, none in others and the DE killed the ones in them. I empty them when some are in them, wash them thoroughly, and re-apply the DE, and then no more. My bites are healing and I am sleeping better.I am hoping with these and the enclosure I am done but I will wait to put my place back together for a few weeks. Pray for me that they are gone.
