Cooling Gel Mattress Topper - Bed Cooling Mattress Pad to Help You Stay Cool - Silent, Comfortable, Effective Long Lasting Heat Relief (King 80 Inches x 76 Inches)

We have an older tempur-pedic mattress (we call temper-heated) that sleeps way too hot and miserable. Since summer is here, we’ve been mattress shopping. Just before we were about to spend $5K+ on a new mattress, we stumbled across this cooling gel topper. It came double boxed and the quality is outstanding. The fit is just perfect (ordered king size) and we laid an additional breathable bamboo mattress pad over the top, then the flat sheet. It’s only the first night but so far we’re very impressed and hopefully just saved lots of money! The pad isn’t too thick but it’s very heavy and effective. We may try it without the bamboo pad on the top of it to see if there is any difference. We will update our review after more nights.Update 7/8/2019 - We have now had this 30 days and decided to keep it. It made a huge difference. It is cool when getting into bed and will increase to a neutral temp after time under your body but never gets uncomfortably warm. We keep the inside temp of our home around 74 degrees. Before this topper we would have to drop the temp down to 68 degrees to stay comfortable all night. This will definitely pay for itself over time.

This mattress topper is interesting. When first placed on the bed it is noticeably cool; however, it quickly absorbs and retains your body heat. As a result, about an hour after laying on the topper, you need to change positions. Rather than radiating heat outward into the gel as described, heat is retained directly under your body. If you wind down in bed by reading or watching TV before going to sleep, that time in bed will warm the gel enough to be uncomfortable when it's time for lights out.If you're a hot restless sleeper and you don't mind changing sleeping positions frequently, there is a chance this could work for you under the following conditions.1. You sleep alone in a larger bed (queen or king)2. You don't mind waking up enough to change positions every hour or twoIf this is your situation, you could feasibly use this topper for relief. Each hour or two, you would simply swap positions to the other half of the bed. This would allow your former sleeping position to cool back to room temperature while you warmed the topper in the new position. If you don't sleep alone, it is unlikely that there will be enough room to roll around and find a cool spot throughout the night. It's a great concept, but for us, it fails in practice.

When you first get into bed, it is a cool dream to sleep on! But throughout the night it absorbs and retains your body heat making you sweat and basically cook where you lie. Think about how the medical first aid gel packs work, this is the same only larger. Sleep quality becomes lying in a puddle of sweat.

Horrible! My husband and I both woke up sick after using it a couple nights. Lethargic, pounding headaches and overall malaise. We know it was the mattress pad cause we had the same symptoms with a cooling fell pillow we trashed. Also only stays cool a couple hours then it holds onto the heat and you are even hotter than you would be without it. Trashing it.

I recently purchased this mattress topper and I LOVE it!! I purchased a new bed and really like it however I found myself being hot at night. I bought a new mattress topper with "infused coolie", however it is very hot. I was searching for a new COOLIE topper and bought this one. IT'S AWESOME!! When you first get in the bed, it's COLD (but that's what I like). After about 10 minutes, it's still cool, but not cold. I'm a 'flipper', so as I sleep, I flip and find the "coolie" and sleep very soundly. Since I've been using this topper, I haven't been hot while sleeping. LOVE IT!!

Had it about 3 weeks > So far it does what it says it would do. Provides some cooling effect on top of our tempurpedic mattress as well as another layer of comfort. Value is there where its priced I believe though I have not tried cheaper ones.

Getting into bed is awesome because the bed is incredibly cool, but not uncomfortable. Waking up at one in the morning feeling like I'm on top of a skillet is another matter. Your body heat will ultimately transfer to the gel. Nice try but not worth the money.
