Dreamy Coastal Design
Dreamy Coastal Design on this and so affordable. It took me a couple of hours to put it together. I just spread all the strings out on the couch and coffee table in order of how many shells were on each strand. Couldn't believe that none were broken, they are surprisingly strong to look so delicate. I tried using the gloves but they we awkward so I just kept washing the shell powder off my finger tips every so often. Once we began to install it we realized the metal strip that attaches to the ceiling was a thin bar and didn't cover the round hole from the previous fixture. We chose to buy a decorative plaque and put it between the metal strip and the ceiling in an effort to cover the hole gracefully. (will add a few photos) We got some nice HD spectrum light bulbs that glow more blue white than blue yellow and they look great!

Beautiful addition to my coastal decor!
I just put up this light and am thrilled with it. I altered the length of the shells to give a tiered effect, with four shells in the center and two shells for the outer ring. I didn't mind putting the many pieces together, but I like to do detailed hobbies. I waited until the fixture was mounted and then attached the shell lengths to it. It is a bit challenging to align the fixture to the long support screws and found it best to measure the distance between the opposing fixture holes (25 cm) and tightening the screws in correct position before trying to align with the fixture plate. The fixture is as big around as a large pizza. I did wear gloves to put it up to avoid tarnishing the chrome. Unlike another reviewer's experience, my light did have a ground wire. I have dimmable LED light bulbs in it and it is very bright when fully on. I definitely recommend this light for a cool beachy sophisticated look!I will try to figure out how to post an image.

Pass on this 3 hr craft project and go for a more standard LED bulb fixture
Absolutely amazed that the Chinese company that made this fixture expected customers to sit for 3 hours stringing together tiny beads, wire loops and shells! I read the reviews mentioning assembly but figured it was an exaggeration of the work involved so I took a chance. I naturally have patience but, Wow, this was ridiculous. Buy only if you have a few kids with small hands needing a chore for punishment.I spent two hours stringing beads and another hour attaching them to tiny annoying rotating eyelets on the baseplate. I think its probably best to attach the strings before hanging because it could be a nightmare trying thread each string to the eyelet up on the ceiling. Be warned you need to make 50 strings of the beads and shells. Instructions are a joke.... see pic... After a while I learned the best system for me. I put two rings on each bead and then added shells as the last step connecting them.Instructions say to assemble wearing gloves.... what gloves? Am i supposed to go out and buy specisl gloves? Instead i just tried very hard not to touch the shiny chrome baseplate with my fingers. Its ok to touch the beads and shells though. The light is one of those products that looks glam from a distance but up close you see just how cheap it is.I dont think I'd buy this fixture again. It was a demonic craft that took far more time than I anticipated.....uses bulbs which Im not used to.... and I'm just not feeling like the fixture is a good value.Whats up with the weird industrial looking cutout on the base too? Fixture is trying to look fancy but it has a marking that looks like a mistake.... like they used some scrap metal.Five attachment points too.....This fixture is just another example of how products are so poorly made these days but people dont seem to mind as long as it looks good from afar.

Simple but very , very time consuming.
This is a pretty light fixture. It took me a several hours to put all the tiny pieces together. The one thing that I do not like about it is that the manufacturer did not distinguish between the bottom row of capiz shells and the other rows so that when you string the final shell into place it also has a hole drilled into the bottom of it. I/3 of the shells should have had only one hole instead of 2 drilled into them. No light bulbs come with this so just be informed. After reading other postings I elected to have the fixture installed before I added all of the strings of shells and plastic crystal beads to the fixture in order to keep it lighter to work with.Notice the crystals are made of plastic... they are not glass. It's not expensive for a reason. I have no idea what the capiz shells are truly made from... and my box had no instructions in it so I went back the Amazon picture to look and see what the fixture was so supposed to look like. It was simple to figure out ... just be aware that no instructions came ( in my box anyway) .

The good..
The good...Great price!Great amount of lighting!Love the capiz shells.Big Bang for your buck.I opted for layering each row at a different length so it looks "tiered", which is prettier than the photo design it suggests.Plenty of shells and rings and beads included, extras! The bad...doesn't mount tight to the ceiling, leaves a bit of a gap and is loose. Bad sized bolts or something. Even tho we paid for pro install. The spaces in between each hoop you attach the shells to are , in my opinion, spaced too far apart.Be very patient to string this assembly together. There's wierd small square openings on the side rim of the ceiling mount that is a bit of an eye sore.

Although the light itself is very very pretty, the fixture came with a small dent in it. The most shocking thing however was that it came completely disassembled. There were 2 bags of shells, a bag of crystals, and a bag of jump rings to attach everything together. I had to sit here and put 50 strands together and then attach them to the fixture itself. It took hours. If my daughter wasn't absolutely in love with the light I would have returned it. I don't think for $70 I should have to assemble the whole thing or at least put it in the item description that a lot off assembly is required. I would have given it 5 stars if it was assembled or I would have known it needed all that work.
