Broken
So I got this bucket to soak then store dishes. Bought on 3/7 as of today 5/2 it's not usable.First time I used it, the sides bowed out. I was surprised because I've used other Rubbermaid containers for this same job for years without an issue. As of today, there is an actual hole at the bottom.Maybe I just got a bum one. Maybe there's such a thing as fake Rubbermaid. Maybe it would just prefer life as a planter - which is what I'll repurpose it for. Not going to buy this one again.

Edges do not stay closed when carrying or storing bulky items
I received 4 complete bins (4 tops and 4 bottoms) after confirming that there would be 4 complete sets. They arrived and the tops for the 55 qt size is blue-grey. I got these rather than other brands because they are supposed to be slightly narrower than 16 so 3 would fit a 48" space. The covers make the width slightly wider (these are narrower at the base andd wider at the top) but I was able to raise the base so the covers are at different heights and still fit 3 across. Although I am filling these with fairly light stuffed animals, when carrying these bins by the locking handles the sides bulge out so the edges do not stay clipped. I had to place a small bungie cord across the middle to keep these fully closed even though the edges remain locked. After looking at multiple different brands of storage bins, the ones I found of this size are all the same. The design would be improved if they included locks on all 4 sides.

Over priced
I almost had to file for bankruptcy because I bought 2 if these totes. Other than that and having to sell my Pokémon collection; these are great totes.

Works superb for a litter box!
This box worked perfectly for my purpose. I wanted a litter box with tall sides. Our girl Sammie likes to stand when she pees And her tail just keeps going higher.and higher. I watched her one day and of the 14" height she used only about 12" of it. All is going well and she likes the tall smooth sides becaue she can scratch the walls before exiting just like the old one.. We cut a rectangular hole in one of the ends and made sure to keep the structure there so we could put the cover on it.I got this idea from another poster. This was posted in the category of people looking for better litter box options. You'd have to figure out the dimensiond of the box yourself all depending upon your needs. Any brand of storage tote would work. Just pick out the right size

The 40-gallon version is big, but could be bigger...and less flimsy
I bought the 40-gallon tote to use as a covered curbside recycling bin. As of the date of this review, it seems to be the largest size available at any reasonable price. The idea is to store our recycling outside, and keep it dry and inaccessible to animals until pickup night. I prefer a flat container like this because it is more stable. We live on a busy highway and the tall "garbage can" style bins are more likely to blow over into the road, especially when haphazardly replaced by careless sanitation workers. It arrived as advertised, but overall it feels...flimsy. The lid (at least for this size) is attached via a hinge, but the hinge only allows it to open about 90 degrees. Beyond that, the hinging forces begin to torque on the structure of the bin itself. I'm tempted to just remove the hinge altogether, lest a sanitation worker try to force it more than 90 degrees and end up cracking the side of the bin.I do like the domed lid, which will prevent rainwater from collecting on the surface. It remains to be seen if this is worth the $39.It is worth noting that I only found the 40-gallon version by directly searching "Rubbermaid Roughneck 40 gallon". It still takes you to this page, which is supposedly only listing the 14-gallon version. But, if the product title on the page says "40 gallon", you will get the 40-gallon version even if the product details say otherwise. I don't understand why they haven't bothered to just list "40 gallon" as one of the size options.Update: I just found this 54-gallon option: 54 Gal. Sturdy Polyethylene Plastic Hi-top Storage Tote . It appears to have a completely separate lid (which is what I want), but I won't be sure until it arrives. Unfortunately, it's a low-popularity item, so it won't arrive for a few weeks.

Perfect for small air compressors
I purchased this to store my 2-gallon direct-drive air compressor & related accessories. Unlike other cheap plastic container imports, the title "RoughTote" implies it can handle rough handling like kicking or dragging without cracking the sidewall. It's made of the same material as Rubbermaid's 32-gallon "Brute" containers. I've tried other (imported) plastic storage containers and they often cracked when loaded heavily and I later pull to drag the plastic container; or when I stack other heavy containers on top of it. Don't know if it would last long if stored outside and exposed to damaging hot sun, but I strongly recommend to put a tarp over it if you plan to store outside. It is the sun's damaging radiation that causes most materials to turn dry & brittle, which is why you need a tarp cover, or treat the material with a protective barrier (paint for example).

Sturdy Tote with good utility and strength
I like these totes a lot. We use them to organize our kids toys, and since they are sturdy enough to handle the everyday pounding that our offspring inflict upon them, I highly recommend these bins. One other thing that I noticed was how well they take extraordinary weight. I have one holding a bunch of books, and the bins remains quite sturdy when I move them, although I find lifting the box quite difficult.I highly recommend these as a storage or moving solution.

Great Item
Good price and fast delivery, no problems. It is sturdy and spacious and does the job of a container well. That's all there is to say really.
