Exactly what I wanted
My little basket stuffed with envelopes that served as my filing system for many years had become an overflowing, disorganized, headache and eyesore. I decided it was finally time to upgrade to an actual file cabinet and was hoping for something around $50, but was willing to pay a little more for quality. I liked the look of this one, that it holds hanging folders, that it has wheels... and I really liked the price. It arrived in perfect condition, without any scratches, dings, or dents, and no parts missing. The little bit of assembly to put on the handles and wheels took me maybe 15 minutes. So easy, I barely looked at the instructions, and that was only for the rear wheels. The way the rear wheels attatch is kinda odd, but it only took a minute to figure out. (Make sure to use the right size phillips screwdriver so you don't strip the screws.) Everything attached solidly with no looseness. It's not heavy-duty, and probably wouldn't survive being tossed out of a second-story window, but for my basic household needs, it is sturdy enough. The wheels are plastic and would be the weak point with any rough handling. Also, they might need a shot of WD-40 to roll smoothly. The lock is enough to thwart snooping, but anyone with a serious agenda could easily break in. Not an issue for me, as I don't intend on using the lock. The file cabinet looks very nice, and my paperwork is finally neat, organized, and easily accessible. Hurray! (Mine came from Office Supply)

Good for the price
It was pretty much already assembled & I just had to put the handles on. I didn't put the wheels on it because it's super lightweight & my toddler keeps pulling it around. It's pretty good for the price & does what I need it to do while working from home. The lock is not very sturdy. I wouldn't count on it to be useful unless you just want the kids to stay out of the drawers. Pretty thin but like I said, it does what I need it to do. Would recommend.

Kind of flimsy, but works perfectly fine
This file cabinet works just fine for minimal home use, I wouldn't want it for an office where it would be used constantly. It is built fine, just pretty flimsy. The doors don't have the common thumb opener which many due, just means you have to be careful when moving it around (if not locked) and both drawers can open at the same time, making tipping over very possible. I honestly think the drawers should open further also. Hanging file folders just barely completely fit it, not a big deal but you just have to put them in right. One problem is how far the drawers open. Unlike most file cabinets you're likely used to, these drawers only open about 2/3 or so as far, meaning you really can't fill these completely since you won't be able to reach what is in the back when the drawer becomes more and more full.

Quality and simple
This filing cabinet is perfect. For less than $50, you can't beat it. Everything was SOOOO easy to assemble. The wheel holes are slightly smaller than the screw to ensure a tight fit. No power tools needed; just a firm grip on the screwdriver. I am a 125 lb woman that is just shy of 5'4" and I am NOT in shape. If I can do it in 15 minutes, so can you. The drawers open completely so that made it easy moving all of my hanging files from my desk drawer to this cabinet. I am very pleased with this purchase. It fits perfectly under my desk and has wheels!!! I like that it does lock so I can know if things have been tampered with. It's not a safe or anything, but for $50, it's perfect!!!

An answer to my prayers
I have needed a file cabinet for awhile and always meant to go to my local office supply company to get one, but kept putting it off and forgetting about it. My problem finally became too big to ignore and I ordered this file cabinet online. It's absolutely perfect. I can not only keep track of my important papers, user manuals, and notebooks, but I can also lock the cabinet as well. The file cabinet looks nice and rolls easily across the floor if you should have to move it. I have hardwood and ceramic floors. So it definitely rolls easily across those. I don't think it would be too difficult to move on carpeting either as long as it's not something that could tangle in the wheels.

OK, but wouldn't buy again
These file cabinets are OK, but would not buy this again even at this price, or perhaps I should say especially at this price. I bought two so I would have matching cabinets under a table in my office; not my brightest move. Let me just say if I could have found a better quality online (or even at the local but smallish chain office supply, that I was certain about I would have paid double. The drawers roll out only half to 3/4 and then have to be weighted in the back with something heavy or they tip over (I used two huge dictionary type books). There is nothing to hold folders in place -- no slider on the sides or even those metal things that fit in the bottom and stand up sort of like book ends. This means books or some other object needs to be placed after the last folder if you want them to stand upright. The handles and casters come separate. The handles install easily, though beware the screws for them are actually screwed into the handle, so if you're looking for the pieces in the plastic they come in you may think they've been overlooked. The front two casters fit on fairly easily, but the back two are tricky and it's such a convoluted mess I don't think I could even describe it. Once put on the rollers work fine.

Excellent value for the price.
5 stars because of the value. It's not built like a $300 file cabinet, but for the price you can't beat it. Pros: Wheels. Small form factor even with the wheels. (I got it specifically to fit under a table that's 27.5" high.) Price. Arrived in perfect conditions with easy-to-follow instructions. Cons: Thin metal, which means it wouldn't be hard to break into. It's more designed to keep out a snooping office mate rather than a thief. I'm pretty sure I could rip it open if I wanted to. But again, if you wanted something that's that secure, buy an actual safe not a file cabinet. Not a big issue, but you have to kinda wave the folders back and forth as you're putting them into the drawers because the indentations that the drawers glide on leave very little space between the folder and the indentation. Again, not much of an issue once you figure it out. It has a tendency to tip if you have both drawers out. Since mine is going under a table I just set a couple extra 10-pound plates on top of it since they don't show anyway and it doesn't tip at all.

Good
This is a good, sturdy filing cabinet. It looks great, has a good color, and I've had no issues with the lock. The instructions are simple.
