I just purchased these on a whim, and when we got them the other day, we put them in the sun to see how they worked. Sometimes solar lights aren’t very bright - especially if they’re inexpensive. That is not the case with these. They’re very bright, and there are different options of how to use them (fast twinkle, slow twinkle, no twinkle). These were exactly what we were looking for.UPDATE: It's been 2 weeks, and they're no longer working.

I attached these to the deck and faced the solar panels to the sun. They charge all day every day, but two hours after sunset, they are very dim, create a weak glow and are just bright enough to see the individual LED bulbs on the fence. It is pleasant in that it outlines the deck somewhat, but provides NO usable light. They are not bright enough to illuminate ANYTHING else on the deck. I live in Boston and the days are getting a bit shorter at the start of Sept. but these clearly don't have large enough solar cells to power them.So how did this item get all of the "glowing" reviews? They gotta be fake, which represents a real problem for Amazon, because it is getting harder and harder to find quality items among the junk.

I'm sorry I tried to find a way to contact the seller to talk to them before I wrote this review to see if we could come up with a solution but I couldn't find a way to contact them. These lights do not work. We have many other solar lights and know how to work them correctly. These lights seem to have a loose connection maybe. When we pick them up and push mode they come on but once we get the stake put back in the ground they either go off then or five minutes late. I even put one of the solar stakes in the ground where it would receive light all day long and it still doesn't go on. I really hope I can get my money back;)

These lights are very cheap. They do not hold a charge and shut off after 20 minutes. The solar box feels very cheap and the on/off barely works. The lights flicker and fade when trying to just leave them on a solid light. I don’t believe these reviews are real!! Amazon really needs to crack down on fake reviews!!

Bought two of these to use on our RV and what a bummer. They flash in what seems like 30 different patterns - but never seemingly all just "on" or a simple "blink".But the worst part is that they never seem to charge up enough to last through a night. And worse, they don't stay on all night ... We got these in part to keep packrats out from under our truck and RV and for that purpose they're pretty much useless. I found some lights at Harbor Freight that do a great job, much better quality and much easier to use than these.

Ordered two, one works great, the other isn't bright but works. Both were amazing when we installed them at the beginning of winter. Haven't gotten up to the roof edge to work and see if solar charger isn't getting enough light, has worn out cells, or is just plain faulty. At their best, they are nowhere near as bright as "regular" holiday lights. They are subtle and pretty, though.

These are in full sun, the solar stakes are near where I have my vegetable gardens so I know they're getting plenty of sunlight, but they won't light up, I turn them on and they turn on, then start flickering a bit - don't last long. Then the next day they won't come on again on their own, turn them on - same thing, over and over and over.

Purchased four sets to line my walkway, product was easy to install. Once installed 1) I had to manually turn the lights on (all four sets), as the light sensor did not operated. 2) The batteries died and light turned off in less than two hours; again all four sets. The "Modes" did not work, sometimes they would blink, sometimes, run, go dim, do a wave motion without any input; it's as if the mode switch was cycling by itself. Very disappointed and I seriously doubt 80% of purchases gave these four stars, it doesn't make sense that all four sets all failed in the same manner without there being a design/manufacturing fault on all.
