Q: Does it have solid core?

Yes it does have the inner core. It's a good, tough cable.

Q: Does it connect to a drill?

This cable is longer and more stiff than the cable that comes with those small, drill-operated cable drums from ordinary stores, and it probably would not fit into the drum. If you're using a professional drain cleaning machine, drill-operated or otherwise, this is an excellent cable. It is slightly bigger in diameter than those small, soft 1/4" cables; it's 5/16. It cannot work with just a power drill; it needs a professional drum. It is meant for clearing smaller drain pipes, such as kitchen sinks, laundry, bathroom sinks and bath tubs. Not for floor drains or sewers. These small drains are seldom more than 25' in length, and very seldom require a 35' cable. The extra length makes the cable more susceptible to kinks, too.

Q: Is this for a cable and auger?

Yes. I use it with my Ridgid K-50 and a larger drum. Because it's 35' it has a slightly greater tendency to kink, so you should be gentle with it, and take your time. But sometimes the regular 25' length is just a little short, and having this cable saves the day.
