CulCharge Smallest MicroUSB to USB 2.0 Charge and Data Cable on Keychain

After 6 months attached to my car key, I am suddenly moved to write a review because it doesn't seem to be as durable as I'd originally hoped.I bought the micro-usb version for $15 in January 2015, which was $10 cheaper at the time than the lightning version (much cheaper than the current price). I have an iPhone, and already had an Apple micro-usb to lighting adapter, which clicks right onto the end of this, and stays on quite well. Because my car has keyless entry and start, my key stays in my pocket 99% of the time, with this attached to it. Many times there are other things in my pocket including loose change, a metal folding pocket knife, small flashlight, etc. I noticed today that there is a chunk of black plastic missing from the large USB connector. This is causing the strain-relief "teeth" that keep the black plastic connector securely attached to the white flat cable, to start disengaging. While the general functionality of this unit is great, I don't see the long-term durability being what it should, if this is going to live on a keychain.I am hopeful that I can repair it with epoxy, but I also might look for another unit that is metal. Plastic is just not durable enough to survive my rough handling.

Really good idea for a product. I'd use this regularly if not for one significant flaw: the business end of the charger is too short/too fat to work with iPhone covers. I have to remove my basic, thin Apple iPhone cover to enable a connection. It's a pain in that regard. I still keep this on my key chain as there are times I forget to bring a charger while traveling, but I don't use it as much as I'd like.

It works great so far. I've had it a couple weeks now and used it quite a few times and it hasn't failed yet. The chain and ring feel and look like they are made of a plastic, but they are magnetic, so they have to be made of a metal - and they seem sturdy. Fifteen bucks was a little steep for a 2.36 inch long usb cable, but if it holds up, it will be worth it. I just wish I would have gotten it for free like all the other reviewers.

I have a very modest case. It's not a bulky case by any means. Still this won't work with it, or any of my friends who have cases. It's probably only viable if you carry your iPhone without a case.

Great Idea,Will not work on Iphone 6plus with Otterbox Defender case. I suppose its not the charging cables problem, I had to cut down the black rubber so that it will charge my phone, after cutting the black rubber housing, I am no longer able to use the key chain attachment.

The one and only thing I don't like is it won't fit through if you have an otter box , other than that very good product and super efficient and easy to carry with you at all times ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The casing on the white part pulled away from the black connectors in the first few days of use. I'm genuinely worried about the continuing quality/durability of this product, which is disappointing given its relatively expensive. I wish I had purchased the Nomad, which seems more durable.

I use this in conjunction with Maxah Micro USB to Type C adapter and it enables me to charge both Type C and MicroUSB devices when I need to in a extremely small and portable form factor!

Good little charging cable but I wish that the connection to the key chain was more secure. It's a little wire circle and the wire seems very bendy - I'm not sure how long it will last. It's also a bit frustrating that the USB part doesn't tell you which way up to insert it - and it makes a difference, one way it charges the other it doesn't. Can't help feeling it's a bit expensive for what it is.

Nice compact and solidly constructed connector to carry on your keys at all times. I barely norice it's there and has shown no signs of damage despite being thrown around attached to my keys.

Perhaps my only gripe is it is so short that when placed directly on top of a portable charger it could not bend without popping out occasionally. I later discovered a very similar item to this in a cheap high street clothes chain for a pound. I can only assume that the intention for having the device as inelastic as this is to ensure longevity.

To be fair I am expecting a lot from a cable when I keep it in my back pocket, but like every other one I've tried this has failed after a few months. I found the A end has come apart and snapped off.If you keep it on a keyring in a normal pocket or bag then I'm sure it's fine.
