ABUS 78/50 KC 2-Inch Locker Dial Combination Padlock, Black

My philosophy on padlocks is that it’s like running from a bear - you don’t need to be the fastest, just a little faster than the other guy. This lock provides a little better shim resistance than your standard Master Lock (if you haven’t seen this, look it up, it’s trivially easy with a thin piece of metal). Since it’s slightly better made I figure locker room crooks will go for the unlocked lockers or the easier to open locks. It’s definitely not for high security applications (and it doesn’t claim to be) but sometimes being just a little better is all you need. The silver dial with black body and black numbers looks nice too. If you don’t want the keyhole on the back get the regular version and NOT the KC (key control) one.

I know this is just a lock but I weirdly love it lol. It's much sturdier and heavy compared to your average MasterLock. It really feels solid and secure and the all black is really cool. It almost has like a matte, smooth rubber type of feeling rather than a shiny metal texture like most. I really like this for what it is

Trust Abus more than Master locks for their durability and resilience. Easy enough to use if you went to school and had these on your locker everyday for years.

Can't be popped open with a sleeve devices.

I bought this lock for a low security setting. If anyone uses this for high security purposes, your stuff will get stolen. The lock seems to be of better build quality over a standard cheap rattling master lock. Opening the lock is different from the master lock so read the instructions. The lock has anti shim protection, but shims can be modified to defeat the shim guard. Now this lock is really meant for schools or businesses on a large scale because there is a master key for the lock. I did not know this and that was a little unsettling even for my application. I stuff a piece of plastic in the lock well and packed it with JB Weld. I then put JB Weld on the back of the lock as well. The chances of someone using a master key now are zero.Abus, make this style of lock with better shim protection and without the master key option.

Some users were saying that this has a key slot in the back that anyone can open it. thats BS. there's no key slot in the back of the newer ones, and the Green one that I purchased was easy to read with white lettering like in the photos. I would highly recc,

I need this for my swim locker when I don’t have my glasses. It’s easy to spot my locker and I can make out the numbers. Very sturdy construction. I got the bright yellow color.
