The Good: - good air flow - straps on nice ...
The Good:- good air flow- straps on nice and tight- adjusts easily (once you get used to the clasp mechanism)- sturdy constructionI use mine exclusively for kickboard workouts since I always end choking when I try the snorkel with strokes. I never used a snorkel before either for swim workouts or for diving so this is new to me. It's perfect for kicking and eliminates many of the back pains I used to get from doing long kicking sets. The valve thingee that expels water from the snorkel while under water seems to do the trick to clear it out but it does have a minor problem clearing out spit (ew, grosss, yes I know). Water clears out easily but saliva takes a few blows. I mean I kickboard for like a mile with no water or rest breaks and one tends to froth at the mouth like a horse by the middle of it. I don't know if the valve is good or bad mind you just that it sometimes it takes a couple honks before it clears. The only other minor negative thing I might point out is that when getting used to using the snorkel, the head strap itself will require some adjusting while in the water. The force of the water flowing around your head will push the snorkel up against your forehead in a different way then when you're on dry land. Combine that with a strap that's too tight and you end up with a massive headache. It doesn't help that the strap part that makes contact with your forehead is fairly hard plastic. Properly adjusting the strap made the pain go away for me.I'm probably going to buy one of the attachments they make for it to challenge my breathing. Happy swimming!

Finally I can get lots of exercise swimming laps!
I use it all the time for lap swimming. I tend to get stiff necks easily and it has allowed me to swim for long periods of time without having to turn my head very much. The one problem I had with it originally was getting water in my nose. Unlike doing the crawl in which I am continually blowing air out my nose, I have trouble keeping water out of my nose when I use this snorkel. Other people using swimmers snorkels seem to be just fine, but not me. I tried nose clips but was only able to swim one length before having to stop, blow water out of my nose, and readjust the nose clip. I solved the problem by replacing swimmers goggles by snorkel goggles which cover the nose. Now I can swim continually for as long as fifteen minutes or even longer. The mouthpiece on the snorkel is not removable and so the snorkel will be worthless if the mouth piece ever fails BUT I LOVE THE MOUTHPIECE! I have a narrow bite and it fits my mouth very well. Word of warning. The strap does not need to be tight like the strap on a pair of goggles. It is best to make it as loose as possible. If you have an extremely large head this snorkel might not be a good fit for you. If you have to wear the strap tight it will probably leave a red welt on your forehead.

Sturdy materials; well designed; and no plastic taste; works perfectly
I got this yesterday, and tried it in the pool. I am a strong swimmer, but I notice my neck gets stiff from taking it out of the water a alot. A snorkel allows me to keep my head in one position, and actually increase my speed to finish laps. This was easy to breath through; right size for my adult mouth. The snap on the head was comfortable and easy to adjust. The snorkel is lightweight, but the materials look like very sturdy. It does not look or feel cheap when you get it, but that some thoughtful care in choice of materials was made. I never got any water in the top nozzle. I never had the taste of plastic either in my mouth.Incidentally, I also wore a full mask that covered my nose. I think it is best to use a diving mask with any snorkel rather than goggles. The process of breathing completely under water does not allow the release of pressure that builds up in your nose without periodically discharging air through your nose. When you freestyle swim, you discharge naturally from your nose. So you have to deliberately do this with the snorkel to release nasal pressure. Inside a mask, this is easier than using goggles. Every 4-5 strokes, I discharged air through my nose (which goes out the sides of your mask), and this snorkel worked perfectly. I did my air discharge, and I switched to breathing again, with no problem. I highly recommend this snorkel.

It is a very useful tool for practicing freestyle (front crawl)
It is a very useful tool for practicing freestyle (front crawl). I was a complete novice, had the sloppiest form imaginable, and with this gadget I was able to work on proper technique without having to worry about breathing. I still haven't mastered breathing out of the side of my mouth, but my form is solid now. In 5 weeks or so I went from not being able to swim at all to being one of the fastest swimmers at my gym.The only drawback with this snorkel is that if you use proper head positioning, which means keeping your eyes parallel to the center line of the pool and not lifting your forehead, the snorkel can get some water in it. Not always, but often enough. There is a cap (sold separately)to eliminate that, but it requires hot water to attach and re-attach, which means it will be tricky to take it off once you hit the pool. The cap also restricts breathing significantly, which means your lungs will be getting a great work out. Whenever I get water in the snorkel, I make like a whale and give it a good air blast to clear out, then I'm back to swimming like Michael Phelps. Kidding, but I am very happy with this purchase.

I am so happy with this. It arrived sooner than the delivery date given, which was a wonderful surprise. I have used this daily since and I can't believe how much it has already helped me with my swimming and my technique. I would definitely and have already recommend this item to friends. The price was great and well worth the money.

This was such a great and handy buy
This was such a great and handy buy! I hated doing laps but now I can just plow on and not have to spend my time turning my head. Ofcourse with a snorkel it is hard to do kick offs but small price to pay for what I wanted.

Great purchase.
It has made a world of difference for me. I injured my arm and lost full motion. When swimming I was sucking lots of water trying to breath. Now I just plow through the water. Such a pleasure. I would recommend this.
