Can you use this in a vegetable garden and around fruit trees ?

Spinosad is the active ingredient in this product. It was granted organic status back in 2003 and is advertised as safe for humans and pets. I purchased this product to combat the fire ants that kept invading my raised bed vegetable garden. I didn't want to use anything that would contaminate the soil in my beds. It worked well in eliminating the problem whereas before all my other efforts just caused the ants to move to another part of the bed.

Does this work on all ants?

I bought it for fire ants, and I’m not sure that it’s working.

does it kill butterflies and caterpillars?

Not in my experience. Ants are gone, but I see plenty of butterflies and catapillars.

Will this hurt my chickens ?

It has worked great at controlling fire ants around my property. I don't know about chickens.
