Grobet Hand File, Flat Hand File, Cut 2, 6 Inches | FIL-040.20

Just used this for the first time today and was so pleased. The file has a smoother easier to use grain than my Swiss made Fredrick Dick half round file of the same cut 2. This file is made in Italy. I don't use a handle, just wrap the tang with some colored duct tape for comfort and to color code my files as well so I can easily remember which cut I'm using.Wow, I bought this for $21 and was pleased, now I see it has gone down to $14, if you need a file get it now, lucky you! If you are just starting to metalsmith this and a half round file cut #2 are the first larger hand files you should get. Then collect the finer cuts.

My Grobet's seem to cut faster/cleaner than all my other comparable files! This one in particular is my favorite.

I've been wanting to start building a set of Grobet files for several years! Found this one on sale and finally took the plunge. It is amazing how well a good file performs. I look forward to building my set!
