DysonCool AM07 Air Multiplier Tower Fan, FDS, Black/Nickel

Ok, so, its basically a fan for 300+ dollars right? And you can go to any store and buy a damn box fan for 20 bucks. Or, you could go big and get something on an adjustable pedestal for, lets say, a whopping 75 dollars. So, why on earth buy this?Couple reasons. First off, this is not a fan. Its an air mover. So, it is about 90% quieter then a fan. If you have trouble sleeping with fan noise, that's eliminated. At higher setting with more forced air, really no difference in ambient noise. So, you can have this baby on the highest setting, blowing you away, and the noise is minimal.Second, its stylish. I know, I know, I must be crazy. But lets face it. Fans are UGLY. This is sleek, stylish, and doesnt look out of place in a nice house. so, you spend all this money on expensive furniture, decorating, cleaning, etc. only to plunk a big honker of an ugly fan in the house all summer? That too is crazy.Third, its a SNAP to clean. Takes all of about 15 seconds. Typical box fans have dirty black fan blades, you have to take the protective screen off, its a hassle. BOOM. clean in the time it takes you to put your pants on in the morning.Fourth, if you have children, here are no places to stick fingers or tongues. I had a co-worker whose child was sticking their tongue in the fan to see what would happen. Ok, bad parenting, but trust me, the doctor bill that ensued would have easily purchased a few of these!And lastly, its a def. conversation piece. I have had so many compliments and discussions about this darn little thing. People are like, you spent WHAT for a fan? And the next thing you know, they have one. LOL. do yourself a favor and check it out. Its an AMAZING product.

I use this fan every single day and night. I love sleeping in the cold so I have this fan on full blast every night pointing at my bed while isolating back-and-forth to cover my entire bed. I love the cold. Before getting this fan are used to wake up sweating in the middle of the night. This fan has help me sleep better. It’s a little on the noisy side but it almost acts like a white noise machine. Some people might not like that but it doesn’t bother me. The remote was pretty standard and easy to learn without instruction. Assembly wasn’t too difficult. I would definitely buy this brand again. I highly recommend this fan. My room is 13 x 14 and can keep it cool for the most part with the AC on a little bit.

We have no a/c, and despite this fan being pricey, found it was well worth the investment. It has 10 speeds and is relatively quiet. We are so pleased we invested in this. Even in very humid & hot weather, this cools us off. Love the oscillating part as it hits me, my husband and 20 year old cat. Secondly, it is very sleek looking. Fits between our living room & dining room and actually looks attractive. Nice touch is the remote, when it gets a little too cool or maybe not cool enough, can just hit the remote to raise/lower the speed. We've only had this now not quite two months, but are loving it and hope it lasts a long time.

For a ridiculous cost, Dyson products continue to disappoint. We used the fan for 2 days before it threw an error code. The room is typical use conditions in my home office where I wanted a very quiet fan with a low footprint. The fan is not quiet despite its design and in the first 2 days, it threw a fault code and shut down. Complete waste of time.

In the purest sense, this is a good fan - puts out plenty of air at a useful height, oscillation function works well as does the sleep timer. Its relatively quiet at lower speed settings, but fairly noisy at full blast.But ergonomically, its not well thought out. The only control on the unit itself is a tiny power button, which is located at the very bottom, an inch or two off of the floor. So you either have to bend way down to use it, or use the remote control. The only display on the unit is a small two-digit LED display, which shows you either the current speed (1-10) or the sleep timer (shows remaining minutes when less than one hour remaining, or the number of hours remaining).The included remote is a bit on the small side. It has four controls - a power button as on the unit, a button to toggle oscillation on/off, a button to increase or decrease the sleep timer, and a button to increase or decrease the fan speed.The remote mounts magnetically to the top of the unit, which would go a long way to compensating for the tiny tower button located all the way at the bottom. It *could* function as a removable control panel on top of the unit, except that *the remote mounts button-side down*, so to use it you have to lift it up off of the unit and turn it over, and this is more difficult than it should be because the remote is fairly small, and the receiver for its signal is located at the very bottom of the unit near the power button, and it doesn't work well unless its pointed directly there.

I ordered black, received white; oh well. What did disappoint me is that after just a few nights, the system started making a creaking sound. Now I don't activate the swivel movement anymore. For the price tag, I expected better.

It looks good, light weight and was easy to assemble. Way too expensive though. Serves us well to handle the summer heat!
