The written instructions were brief but I had watched a video online about installing it. So I was comfortable from that information I had viewed. It worked on the first try and has been working fine for several days now. It does get a little warm but not near as warm as the compressor gets under steady load (which is normal). If it lasts a long while then I will be happy. Time will tell...

I use these frequently when I don’t have an OEM part handy. With Amazon I can usually have it within a couple days.

Super easy to install!

installed it, plugged it, motor started running. soon after, it's nice and cool inside the fridge. joyus feeling thinking i got the fridge revived. then few hours later when i opened the fridge door, the light was out. fridge inside was not cold anymore. checked to found out that it tripped the circuit breaker. reset the breaker, plugged it back in, then i t tripped the circuit breaker again. so i waited for couple hours for it to cool down, plugged it in, the light was on, but the compressor won't start. i checked the defrost timer made sure it was not in the defrost cycle. so it only worked for a few hours.i hope i'll hear something from the seller on what to do.

I put this on a small walk in cooler, 1/3 HP. It tried to start the compressor but failed. I ended up buying the factory start components which did work. So, although this is affordable and might work for a different fridge or situation, it didn't work for me.

A refrigerator at work was short cycling, but the compressor tested okay. I was able to get same-day shipping with Amazon for this hard-start kit, took about 15 minutes ti install it--problem solved and refrigerator is humming just fine. Good product and nice to be able to do a $20 major appliance fix.
