D R Harris Lavender Shaving Soap Refill (100g)

I am a big fan of European shave soaps such as Tabac and MWF. D R Harris is another favorite. I have opted for the D R Harris ceramic jar as the wooden bowls used currently are Faux wood albeit labeled as oak or walnut! The wooden bowls of my older soaps of Crabtree and Evelyn were superb but now discontinued in this country. The Lavender and Windsor soap pucks by D R Harris are my favorites. I also like to remove the labels on these new cardboard boxes by microwaving the box for 20 seconds(without the soap in the box) thus peeling the labels off to be attached to the Harris ceramic bowl thus comparing ingredients with newer replacements.The ceramic D R Harris soap bowl is available from Bullgoose Shaving for about $48 currently. Remember to let the soap dry out after use with the lid off.

Lathers great and awesome scent

I've used this product for well over 20 years. I've tried a variety of others (all good) but keep coming back to this brand. I've also tried some of their other scents, which I also recommend. Very clean feeling after. I gave it a 3 star for travel, because I don't think of cake soap is particularly handy for travel (depends on your set up, I suppose, and whether you are flying or driving), and because I've tried the tube shaving cream from the same maker and didn't like it quite as much. One reviewer said this soap tends to clog multi-bladed razors. That's not been my experience, although I can see that as a criticism of the the tube shaving cream.

Nice hard puck. Lathers well and softens my beard and gives a nice clean shave. Pleasant scent. The refill lasts a long time. Great value and will buy again.

This is a great product - use with hot water and a badger brush it gives excellent lather and coverage resulting in a very close shave.

A very good shaving soap. It lathers well and it lasts a very long time. It took months for me to use it all shaving every day. My only criticism is that the lavender scent fades to an almost unnoticeable level very quickly after you start using it. As expensive as it is, I would have been upset if it dissolved quickly, but it did last and last and last....

Lavender is one of my favorite scents and this product does not disappoint. You would be hard pressed to find a better VALUE as well- this little puck can last as long as a 8 months to a year. How many cans of Edge or Barbasol would you be putting in landfills in that time? get the nice bowl, and a proper brush and keep buying this product!!

Not as luxurious as I had hoped. Nor was scent what I had hoped for in this “top shelf” soap. Not as good as others, e.g., T&H or Castle Forbes.
