Secret to success: speed auto-negotiation
I've tested these devices on several different routers and switches. Most worked immediately; some only worked after changing the switch or router port configuration. One did not work at all.The problem appears to be auto--negotiation of port speed ( and possibly also duplex/half-duplex, but that wasn't an issue for me).I suggest that if your ethernet link doesn't come up immediately then log in to the switch or router and change the speed setting of the coax adaptor's port from "auto" (or whatever it is called) to "10M" or "10 MBS" (or similar). If that works, then you can try "100M"/"100MBS"/etc.This should be possible with a router or a managed (or 'smart') switch, but not with an unmanaged switch/hub/etc. Perhaps try connecting the coax adaptor directly to a router and test at various port speeds, in order to work out if a particular switch is the problem.

Lasted only a week
I was very pleased to start with. These connectors allowed me to use the Coax cable to connect to my router and I got reasonable speeds (about 30 Mbps). But after a week, both connectors developed flaws. They appeared to be shorting out and the network couldn't be used at all. If I plugged one of the connectors into a port, even with no cable attached to it, the network would go down. I assume the electronics in the connectors are not robust enough for the job.

Denitely works and no loss of bandwith and ping stays the same, beware loose connections
I spent quite a while trying to get this to work. The receiver has a BNC end so you will need a female BNC to coax connector, then a coax male to male, then a coax adapter that takes the wire. Coax joints are often a bit dodgy, make sure the central wire has a small kink in it to get good contact. Slightly crimp the male to male coax connector again to ensure good contact (it needs to be a firm push to connect). I had to bend the BNC female quite a bit, the wire in the female end was too straight and made no connection at all. After all the fiddling with a 30cm piece of coax just to test, it now works on a 30m run with no loss in speed and the same ping speed (no added latency).Persevere, it works if you get the contacts to be tight.

does NOT work.
Useless. The picture quality is horrendous and the link keeps dropping. This item was a complete waste of my time and money and I would return it for a refund but the item cost means the time required to return costs more than the item. Even with prime!!!

Configure to 100Mbps!
These devices ONLY support 100Mbps reliably, but they WILL NOT tell your other equipment that they CAN NOT support higher speeds. Therefore, you MUST configure faster equipment to use 100Mbps or your connection will keep dropping when you try to use it.For example, on Windows 10, go to Settings/ Network & Internet/ Status/ Change Adaptor Options/ Ethernet/ Properties/ Configure/ Advanced/ Speed & Duplex. Then select Value: 100Mbps Half Duplex.Your router should then give up trying to send data at a higher speed and everything will work smoothly.

Simple and effective
We have a studio at the endo of our garden. The previous owner had two Virgin broadband installations, one to the main house and one in the studio from a coax extending from the main one in the house. These widgets enabled us to connect our router in the house to another one in the studio though the extender. The signal drops off from about 300mbps to about 80mbps over the distance of about 25m. It gave a great solution to what we needed without needing a second subscription or to run an new ethernet cable.

Selectively work
I bought 2 pairs of these IP extenders over coax to swap 1 of my old CCTV coax cameras to IP. Initially couldn't get it to work but tried a different switch (Linksys) and everything worked fine with the new Hikvision IP camera. Will have to see how it works over the long term, but for the price it's initially working well.

IT ACTUALLY WORKS
I was very sceptical about using these initially as i've been using more expensive powered versions for a while now, costing around £70 for a pair and thought for just over £8 each, there was no way they could work but they do!!I have hooked them up to a drum of RG59 cable and i'm getting full 70MB download speed.Another review for a product identical looking said they were only connecting at 10MB but mine are showing up as 100MB so very happy. Time to deploy them into a Hik Vision CCTV upgrade from analogue to HD 6Megapixel.At the moment, i can't say if they work on 4K cameras but no reason why they shouldn't.FINGERS CROSSED, ALL GOES WELL!!UPDATEDOh one more thing, if you hold the metal RG59 plug and the case of the extender, they stop working for some reason, so leave well alone. Just Saying. :)

Good product. Misleading description
Arrived very fast from DE to RO. Bought them to install some IP cameras on existing coax cables. Did not had time yet to install the cameras. However, I tested them with PC and on Win10 and a TP-Link gigabit switch it work perfectly if you set "10Mb full duplex" in the ethernet connection. They work very well.Misleading information: maximum speed is 10Mbps, not more, as other buyer said. If you look at this product from other suppliers, they are clearly specifying that it works "up to 10 Mbps".
