Excellent product
This is a throwback to 1966. I received a gold Cross ballpoint pen for my 13th birthday, almost 60 years ago. I had misplaced it in the house and came across it when moving to a new home. The original ink cartridge was dried up, so I ordered a new one. The pen is working like a charm. You cannot go wrong with a Cross pen product.

Good flow - works perfectly
Buy the original refill.. else stick to using a bic pen.

Writes almost as smooth as a gel pen
MY Cross pen was given to me about thirty years ago. I hadn't used it since I switched to gel in almost as many years. Predictably the ink in it was dried and I almost tossed the pen. But i found out how much they are worth and decided to try a new refill. To my surprise it is smooth and flows easily. On those occasions when I need a ball point it is my only choice now.

I’m Sorry Dave I can’t…
Refill for CROSS ball point pen, red, did not write. Nothing could make ink flow. I am not even going to bother to attempt a return or a credit refund. Already spent much too much of my remaining lifespan trying to type a response. The AMAZON system to register my issue deleted all of my 496 word original message when I was unsuccessful in completing the AI generated requests. BOO !

Had a problem at first with the red refills, but another reviewer showed me how to fix it.
I ordered two red Cross refills in separate orders. When they arrived neither one would work, though the package was not damaged at all. I went to ask for a refund or replacement, and though it's true you can return them for free, it is stated when filling out the return slip that you get nothing if the package has been opened. How in the world can you know if something is defective if you can't open it? I have since looked at other reviews, and find many others are having the same issue, so the seller is making a killing off people by sending out bad products with no accountability; I am personally out $20 now.UPDATE: I saw today in another review where a buyer had the same issue, but heated the refill tip with a match and his started working. I tried it with my lighter, and it till a few tries, but I finally got both refills to start writing. I have never had to take such measures with any other refill before. Anyway, my refills do work, so I am changing my stats to 4 instead of one. Not 5, since I shouldn’t have had this problem to begin with.

Works great with a consistent red color.
I use pens constantly and got tired of the inconsistent ease of use and inconsistent coloring of the cheap red ink pens so I now have a cross pen with this red ink. It lasts 6 months or so of daily use (much longer than the individual cheap pens) although I also use a blue ink. Red is more for markups or adding notes to the blue ink notes. but the cheap pens, even when buying boxes of the same brand and type, range from easy to write to cutting the paper and the ink color ranges from red to a light pink.

Real Cross Refill at an Excellent Price
I have been using Cross pens for at least 30 years. I like the look, feel and writing experience of a Cross pen. From time to time I have made the mistake of using a generic refill. Now I will only purchase and use authentic Cross refills.I use the medium blue for my everyday writing. But on occasion, I have the need to use red ink, therefore I purchased some of the red refills. I like the way the ink flows, it goes on evenly with no smudges. If I need to change refill cartridges, it is quick and easy. I keep the tip protector to store the red refill when not in use.All the Cross refills I have used provide a very smooth, even writing. The ink does not blob up. It also does not dry out or require any special effort to start the ink flowing. The refills have a fairly long life - there is a lot of ink in the refill and they do not dry out. These refills were actually less expensive from Amazon than if I had purchased them directly from Cross. So I also like the price.
