Two of Eydie's most beloved albums, both arranged by Don Costa, and both chart smashes (Don't Go to Strangers went all the way up to #22 in 1966). Eydie provides a personal note in the booklet, too!

Best Torch Song Albums in many years
Edie Gorme is one of the most underrated singer of her generation. This collection of soft and sometimes bittersweet tunes is one the best compilations of torch songs. Billie Holiday was is porobably the best known of the torch singers, and Ella F. is right behind her. Edie G. is in great company.

ONE OF THE BEST ALBUMS EVER MADE.
FIVE STARS IS NOT ENOUGH. THIS LADY MAY HAVE HAD THE BEST FEMALE MUSICAL VOICE OF THE LAST CENTURY. THIS ALBUM IS LIKE MEDICINE FOR THE SOUL. THE SONGS THAT STAND OUT AS MY FAVORITES ARE "WHAT'S NEW", "WHAT DID I HAVE THAT I DON'T HAVE", "IF HE WALKED INTO MY LIFE", "I WISH YOU LOVE", "I WANNA BE AROUND", "FOR ALL WE KNOW", "EVERY TIME WE SAY GOODBYE", "SOFTLY AS I LEAVE YOU", AND "DON'T WORRY ABOUT ME". I CAN REMEMBER HEARING HER AND STEVE LAWRENCE ON RADIO WHEN I WAS A YOUNGER. I WOULD GIVE THIS ALBUM 10 STARS. YOU LADIES OUT THERE SHOULD LOVE THIS ALBUM.

No One But Eydie
Many years ago I purchased Don't Go To Strangers in the 33 1/3 vinyl recording. I love this album so much, that I decided to repurchase it in cd form. Now I can carry it around with me and listen to is whenever I want to. There is no one better at singing these types of songs than Eydie Gorme. She sings from the heart and you can hear it in every note. She sends chills up my spine and sometimes tears to my eyes for the emotion that she sings with. I just love her.

Timeless!
This double album from the the late 1960s is pure gold! Eydie Gorme shows her listeners why she was one of, if not the best, vocalists of the era. The arrangements from Don Costa float while Eydie weaves her incredible range and perfect timing on each and every song. If "I Wanna Be Around," "When He Leaves You," and "Softly, As I Leave You" do not give you chills, you are simply not human. Simply divine in every way. Enjoy!

Eydie at the top of her game. Great orchestra accompaniment.

She'll Always Have It!
Eydie Gorme was half of one of the great singing duos with her husband Steve Lawrence. Steve might have referred to her as his "better half." And I believe he was correct in more than just a nominal sense.

Classic Eydie Gorme
Upon hearing about the death of Eydie Gorme, I wanted to add to my small collection of songs by Eydie since I only had one album by her. This is classic Eydie Gorme! Getting two albums for the price of one with great songs by Eydie Gome is fantastic. If you are a Eydie Gorme fan you need to get this album.

Eydie at her Best!
Eydie never sounded better. She's at the top of her game, with a clear, beautiful voice. Her enunciation is so superb, you don't miss a single word. I wish all singers respected the words of the songwriters as impressively as Eydie!
