Good for early learning of feeling words
This is a nice book for a child with lower verbal skills to learn some feeling words. It is not going to work on social emotional skills for a child who already knows feeling words, but it is a fun book for a toddler to read with a parent, because of the predictable patterns. You could also talk further about what was going on in the pictures. The flaps alternate between opening to the side and down, which caused my son to tear one once. Not a big deal - that's what tape is for.

Perfect for social emotional development
I got this for my son who has asd and his speech therapist brought a copy over to share, he loved it so I had to get a copy. It's simple and shows how faces look when we have those feelings, they are big and bright and the interactive pull flaps make it more fun for toddlers. You do not have to read the book word for word you can ask the child what we do when we feel a certain way, it's really open ended perfect for social emotional development.

Not helpful but cute
As a parent this book is just okay, it is not helpful to teach a child to identify feelings in my opinion. Super basic ‘I say happy, you say smile” or “I say hurt, you say ouch” but the colorful simple cartoons and the page flaps make it one the kids like to flip through so it isn’t worthless

One of my favorite books as a Speech-Language Pathologist
As a Speech-Language Pathologist I love this book. The kids I work with request it over and over. It is great for teaching so many language concepts such as two word combinations, answering why questions, making inferences, and of course learning about feelings

Great book!
We love this book in addition to the opposites book. The illustrations are cute and my son loves going through each page and opening the flaps. This book taught him emotions "I say sad, you say... Cry" (with a tearful alligator). I love when we to the tired/sleepy page - instead of "yawn" my son actually yawns and says "ah seepy." Great book! Very cute when little ones repeat it.

Great book, terrible condition
Every page of this book is torn. How is it “acceptable” condition? This is worth maybe $1 in its current condition. Otherwise it is a great book, earning the 3 stars.

I love these books with the flaps - very sturdy even though my 1 year old managed to rip them anyway - it's harder to do than just with paper flaps

My 3 year old daughter loves this book! The drawings are incredibly adorable and she loves making the faces that go with the emotions.
