Wigwam King Cotton Crew F1055 Sock

Nice thick socks
These are much thicker than my old Wigwams. Very cushiony, a little warm, but not sweaty. They do come up higher on the calf than I expected. My old ones must be a different style or product number. Anyway, these are really nice. Just priced too high, but they will last for years. I ordered a size up, because I hate socks that squeeze my feet. I should have ordered my usual size, I expect they would have been fine. My old Wigwams never squeeze, they are the best socks I own.

Simply put - this sock is a classic! The Wigwam King Cotton Crew is a very comfortable, high quality cotton sock, which provides an equal distribution of padding around the whole foot of the sock. The cotton within this sock is spun properly taut in order to provide three essential attributes to the sock wearer: 1) the sock breathes - as any good cotton product will do - which prevents overheating within the sneaker, shoe, or boot; 2) it conforms naturally well to the wearer's foot; and, 3) the sock holds it's elasticity for years. These attributes, provide long lasting comfort while preventing bunching, sliding and subsequent blisters. I should know: I've owned 10 pair for the last four years and have used them almost on a daily basis with either mild, moderate, or extreme ambulatory activity. The Lasting Factor:I have owned 10 pair of these King Cotton Crew socks for the past 4 years. The elasticity and the padding of the sock upheld for this long because the sock is that well constructed. That is why I've purchased 10 more.Question: What Wears well with the King Cotton Crew?Answer: In my experience, the Wigwam King Cotton Crew has just the right amount of material to fit into your everyday cross trainer, walking, and basketball sneakers - not thin, but not thick as a winter wool sock. The King Cotton Crew also fits well within a lighter style hiking shoe/boot such as a Keen. Why do I prefer a well constructed cotton sock over a poly-fiber sock:Since a poly-fiber sock has very little or no cotton, it will not breath well - the air between your foot and the synthetic fibers will stay trapped. Therefore, the poly-fabricated sock will most likely be manufactured with a thinner gauge of material. What about Thorlo socks? Well, they are heavily padded poly-fabricated socks with little or no cotton; thus, my feet sweat profusely after three hours of only moderate ambulatory foot activity.Bottom Lining It:With the Wigwam King Cotton Crew sock, you'll get a well constructed cotton sock that will breath, form to your foot, give you great padding, and will last. You'll get your money's worth and your feet will thank you for it.

Too Heavy
Socks were so thick my shoes felt too tight. If you like extra heavy socks, you will like these. I don’t. I use to always wear Wigwam socks. The style I use to wear (men at work) are now inconsistent size wise. Some large size are huge and others are too small. These were well made but too thick for me.

there is enough cushioning in the Wigwam King Crew Athletic Socks to help fill in the toe box nicely and make the boots fit bett
I bought these to wear with my Frye Artisanal Engineer boots. The boots are somewhat narrow, so I ordered them a half size bigger ...there is enough cushioning in the Wigwam King Crew Athletic Socks to help fill in the toe box nicely and make the boots fit better all around and since they have a lot of cushioning much more comfortable as well. I've only worn them once, so I was a little hesitant in posting a review, but they held up great thus far while I was breaking in my new boots. The boots are very stiff, but there were no hot spots, no wearing of any kind on the sock's material that I can see. Overall it was a good purchase and reasonably priced for a product that is made in the USA. I highly recommend them and will buy again.

OK but not as good as the ones Wigwam used to make
Many years ago, in 2008, I bought some Wigwam socks. They were great. I bought more in the following years. But in the last 5-6 years. Wigwam stopped making the socks I liked. The ones in this review look like the ones I like, but they are thicker and don't fit as well.If Wigwam ever makes the same socks they made in 2008, I will buy a massive number. The old ones are wearing out.

made in america!
If you wear work boots, and if you are like me, and try to buy as many products as possible that are made in the United States, Wigwam socks are a good find. Very high quality. The King sock is very thick, and works just perfect for me in my work boots. I dont think these socks would go well in tennis shoes, a bit too thick. But for work boots they provide an extra comfort cushion, and are very durable. The price seems steep until you wear them. You get what you've paid for with these socks.

NOT what they used to be - lower quality than expected, compared to their previous versions!
These socks used to be quality (as in materials/design/comfort)I have worn these for a few years and thought very highly of them and the made in USA product.SOMEONE changed their manufacturing process notice the LOGO (these are missing on new ones):1) Looser knit, keeps socks from fitting right in work boots and tennis shoes2) More of a 'bump' in the toe stitching - or closure. I'm used to a bump here but why is it slightly bigger?3) Less cottony. Poorer Material or yarn that does not have the same dimensions.4) Looser fit (could be related to #3 above)I don't know why they short change their best product - ouch. Lost a dedicated buying family here AND may point to the overall decline and potential closure of a great company.

Really comfortable/durable
These are night & day more comfortable than the Super 60 crews- not that the 60's are bad, but these are thicker, have a comfortable feel inside the shoe & last quite a bit longer. They might be a little on the thick side for lateral sports & they're not cheap, but if the 60's don't quite cut it for you, try these.
