Crayola Jumbo Crayons, 8 Toddler Crayons, Assorted Colors

It’s good for toddlers. It helps practicing to color. It helps improving motor skills. It’s hard to break the crayons. Good sizes for toddlers.

I bought these crayons a while back to practice scribbling skills with our son, who has a long list of diagnoses at this point that come with global developmental delays and some serious fine motor problems. For him, this particular area is one of his more difficult ones, and something I think he consequently particularly dislikes. So when we were finally able to get him imitating scribbling with some of his sister's old jumbo crayons, we wanted to get him some new ones of his own. The bigger size was important for him because it was easier for him to hold starting out.This box of crayons actually managed to make it a couple of years in our house before he managed to break all of them through a combination of chewing and dropping. He hates scribbling enough that we can't ever get him to do it outside of ABA reinforced therapy exercises, which probably contributed to their durability, however he was pretty hard on them because of his dislike of crayons (lots of chewing and throwing at the tile) and they stood up really pretty well to the abuse. Because of the thicker size, I was usually able to get them out of his mouth before he could bite all of the way through them. I actually really liked that about these, although when he did manage to bite a piece off of one once that terrified me because these are a great size for airway obstruction. They don't hold up as well to being dropped or thrown, they do shatter easier then smaller crayons, but to be honest, I totally taped them back together as long as I could, so it didn't impact us much. We've now moved on to the large crayons because his fine motor has improved enough that he can grip a smaller crayon, but for us I think these held up pretty well to the abuse he likes to subject crayons to (the regular size ones are a nightmare right now when it comes to his ability to bite through one, so that's something to keep in mind if you have a kiddo who likes to chew on these types of things), and I think these are a great place to start when it comes to working on scribbling with a kiddo who has fine motor challenges.

Perfect for littles who arent quite sure how to hold crayons/markers the right way. Our daughter kept breaking all crayons given to her until these. They are sturdy and perfect!

I bought each of the following three brands of crayons based on them being advertised as being "JUMBO", looking for the largest crayons, since at the local store(s) (mainly just going to Walmart), the definition of JUMBO isn't what it used to be!I actually got these crayons for my elderly disabled mother, who suffered a stroke, and lost the use of her right arm/hand, but I hope that she will eventually be able to color with her right hand again, but needs a larger sized crayon in order to be able to hold on to them. The Crayola crayons were just a little bit bigger in length and slightly bigger around than the twelve "Super Jumbo Wax Crayons" by Alex. If I was to choose between these two, I suppose I would go with Super Jumbo Wax Crayons, since you would get twelve different colors, and the size difference isn't that much to make the Crayola's stand out that much.The Triangular Crayons Extra Jumbo (12 colors) were the smallest. As a matter of fact, there wasn't anything "Extra Jumbo" about them. They are the same size as the "Jumbo" sized crayons you can get at your local WalMart. I would hate to use their "average" sized crayons! I just noticed that the packaging says that they were made in Europe, which might explain it, since their cars are a bit on the "Wee" size! The only positive thing about the triangular crayons is that they fit in a nice cylinder 9.7 cm long by 4.5 cm in diameter.I hope this review helps you pick the right size!Please leave a comment if you find any other crayons of truly large size that you like!

Perfect starting point for baby's artistic endeavors. We got this for baby when she was 14 months, plus some giant drawing pad, and she loves it. "Wow!" she screams as she moves the crayon on the paper and a line appears. I guess it is pretty amazing the first time you see it! Make sure to get a couple pads --- you don't want crayons on the walls until you're replaced the matte finish with some scrubbable Sherwin Williams. :)One note: the box falls apart quickly, so consider getting a box to store them in, otherwise you'll step on one in the middle of the night and break it. Baby enjoyed just taking them in and out of the box, so it wore out in a week. No recommendations yet, but I'm sure there's a plastic pencil box or something out there that will work.

My son has a fun tiner coloring with these crayons. They're vibrant and appealing on paper, and they're easy for my son to hold to develop his motor skills.Not good for older children- there crayon thickness doesn't let you color inside the lines. Finer crayons are necessary for that. These thick ones are good for toddlers.When your little one colors on the walls, these are nicely washable with a little bit of a mild degreaser.

My kiddo loves these. They fit great in her 2-year old hands. The colors are vibrant and smooth upon application. …I just wish they weren’t so darn expensive! The price is high for being that they’re only a few crayons. Great crayons, but phewy they could lower the price.
