Amazing compact camera!
This was for my brother, he loves this camera, it's the first time he owns a Nikon, but he completely loves it. He says it's very easy to use and to set up.I also tried it and the image is very clear and sharp, it has a lot of features and the size feels perfect in the hand and also to carry around. My brother likes this type of cameras (compact), I usually use a big point and shoot (semi-pro), but if a I need a compact like this one, definitely I would buy this Nikon, the image is amazing, all with all the features makes this camera a must have in compact cameras!

Review based on basic use
I needed a camera with good battery time, since my phone eats it up too fast, for a trip. It arrived in good time. Because I ordered it within the short time frame before going on my trip, I didn't have enough time between receiving it and reading/testing the camera out. Thankfully it work on my trip. No malfunctions or freezes. Reason I chose this camera is for its selfie functionality. The price was decent and the reviews about battery time all were major factors for me. I had a small Sony camera before and the battery usage time was poor so I needed another camera with long lasting battery time. The battery life is great.... I can take pictures all day without charging. But using it for video eats up the battery very quickly. It doesn't even have to be long videos. I took 4-5 short, maybe 5 mins each, videos and my battery drained really, really quick. The battery charges pretty quickly, maybe within an hour or less? The position of the picture taking button on the front, by the lens, was good and bad. Good = ease of use. Bad = when I have other people take a picture of me, their fingers go automatically to the zoom control button on top, where normally the picture snap picture is situated. Beside the zoom button on top is the small button for video recording. This makes it very easy to keep accidentally pressing either button when taking picture. To my regular person eyes, the quality of the picture is very good.. The auto focus makes it a snap to take pictures. The selfie feature is simple to use. Since it's a flip camera, the lens and the viewer is side by side, so sometimes I forget to aim the lens toward object and aim my viewer toward it instead.Again, I didn't really read through the booklet, just skimmed it at the airport, so I do not know all of its functionality. Just basic point, shoot, record, and review/delete pictures/videos. As pictured, it's small and light.Overall I'm satisfied with this purchase.

It is a pretty good camera
I had bought this a couple months ago, and I had just put it off on using it until now. It is a pretty good camera, great with the weight and the size and the flip screen is something amazing, because you won't find any other kind of camera with a flip screen for this price. This price is great for the camera, it can take pictures in 1080p, which is actual HD!! It has pretty good battery life, and an even better lense. The only reason on why I am giving this camera a 3 Star rating, instead of a 5 Star rating, is because of just one thing. But this one thing is a very crucial part to a camera, the memory. I had been using a 128GB SD card (memory card), and this is a HUGE amount of room. Easily, hours of recording videos, or even hundreds of pictures. But, even with this humongous SD card, I can still only record up to roughly 2 minutes, as well as take only about 14 pictures. I do not know why this is, or even how this is, but that's how it is. So if you will always have a computer nearby to transfer your photos to 24/7, this is a good camera for you. But, if you plan on wanting to Vlog or record something for youtube, or show, take your time to save and get a nicer camera. Personally, the Canon Rebel is a good choice, even though it is a couple hundred dollars more.

Great camera, very poor documentation have to download a manual and even then instructions are not clear or usable.
Wow! The swivel viewfinder allows you to protect it when not in use.Selfies are a breeze with this camera ... no joke, three ways to trigger the photo. 1- shutter button on top of camera 2- shutter button on front of camera 3- tap the screen (it really works)Many photo edits available on camera ... nice!I have had the camera one day so some of these may resolve themselves - will update if they do.Negatives:Had to download manual from on line (not Nikon site - couldn't find it) to figure all the button functions. It is not intuitive! Manual that arrived with the camera does not include critical information for use of the camera.Still can't get wifi to work ...Lag time after photo (there might be a way to adjust but haven't found it yet.) This could be an issue when I want to shoot quick repeat shots.

The camera is nice, it takes pictures well and the quality is ...
Sorry but considering the battery ran out while I was in the Vatican on vacation I'm giving it a 1 star. The camera is nice, it takes pictures well and the quality is good and the flip out screen really is great for taking selfies/timed pictures. But if you are taking this camera on vacation get an extra battery and carry it with you always. I was on a long your in Rome. The battery indicator was totally full and you're not allowed to bring in large bags to the Sistine chapel. Since the batter meter was full like an idiot I left the battery in my bag on the tour bus and of course halfway through the tour the battery died. Went from full to battery discharged in 1 shot. No warning whatsoever.

The stock microphone isnt horrible but it isnt top notch quality
Couple things to note about this that I couldnt find anywhere. There is NO input for microphones. Keep that in mind when your ordering this if you want a really clearly audio intake. The stock microphone isnt horrible but it isnt top notch quality. I read alot of online reviews about this camera so I ordered it to do my vlogging. It works well especially when paired with a desk clamp.Pros: Good for vlogging, high resolution options, clear video, charging via usb is fastCons: It will automatically take the pictures if moving the camera and you have touch sensor on, no microphone input, no way to go past 29 minutes even with a 64gb card, the stand on the back basically serves no purpose.
