Gambler V, The: Playing for Keeps

Gambler V: Playing for Keeps(1994) is a fun western movie filled with action, adventure with a little comedy and filmed on location, for the most part, in my home state of Texas, including Alamo Village in Brackettville,The Strand and The Grand 1894 Opera House in Galveston, Big Bend National Park, Texas State Railroad in Rusk, etc. Having visited all of these places myself, it's always fun to see them used in movies and television productions. The Gambler V: Playing for Keeps(1994) was originally made as a 2-part TV mini-series, and of course, starts Kenny Rogers reprising his iconic role as "The Gambler" from 4 previous "Gambler" TV movies.(The Gambler-1980; The Gambler: The Adventure Continues-1983; The Gambler, Part III: The Legend Continues-1987; and The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw-1991)

I bought this used for my birthday this year because of my favorite actor Brett Cullen. Plus, watching Loni Anderson (My Mother's Secret Life with Amanda Wyss) is a pleasure too. However, I find Bruce Boxleitner having a small cameo very depressing since he had been a excellent actor in the other Gambler movies. Meanwhile Brady Kawkes travels cross country to rescue his son Jeremiah who has joined The Wild Bunch lead by Butch Cassidy (Scott Paulin) and The Sundance Kid (Brett Cullin) before it's too late.

I purchased the DVD and watch it, only disappointed that there is no closed captions, despite the product details say closed caption!! I have another Gambler movie, Playing for Keeps, has the same problem no closed caption, the product details says Closed Captions!! I have been deceived!!!

Arrived on time but could not get it to play in ANY of our DVD players or games systems that play DVDs.Got this as an early Christmas gift for my husband. So very disappointed.

Great fun for western fans as well as country music fans

If you like the old west, gambling, and Kenny Rogers then this movie is for you. This movie will keep you entertained from start to finish. The story line was very interesting, the acting was great and oh did I mention it had Kenny Rogers in it - who by the way was awesome in the movie. Even if you're not a fan of westerns you will like this movie.

I didn't even know there was a fifth movie, but it was okay, but not as good as the first three.

Bought this item for my mom, she is a big fan. It is a Christmas gift so have not watched it yet.
