Talboys 916126 Nickel-Plated Zinc Rod End Connector for Labjaws Clamp
I am a metal artist (by way of back-story). I used this product as an integral part of a hanging lamp, connecting the vertical and horizontal tubes of the lamp. The finish of the clamp would obviously not be a qualifying consideration in an intended use application; when used, as I did, in an aesthetically prominent position the flaws (small, very small) in the chrome plating become painfully obvious. The fastening screws to affix the clamp to the tube have very delicate, square heads which require serious attention (and absolutely the correct size of straight slot screwdriver) to avoid stripping. I did also notice in all of the five clamps I purchased that a bit of filing was necessary to remove the flash resulting from the holes drilled for the fastening set screws which tends to obstruct the insertion of the tubes.I did also find that the price of these clamps at $12.00 ea to be excessive and still have my reservations about that.Having said all that I think the product is fair -- certainly functional though, in my opinion, certainly too expensive.

Great clamp
Great clamp, well made of heavy duty material. These should hold up for years of every day use in the lab.

Five Stars
This was a perfect replacement for the previous connector that broke.

Exactly what I wanted
I believe these are exactly the same as the Talon Rod End Connector 60079-010 which I bought elsewhere.I wanted a post and boom support stand for a small USB camera used as a low powered microscope. I started with laboratory stand ( United Scientific SSB6X9 Support Stand with Rod, 9" Base Length x 6" Base Width ) that had a a 1/2 inch diameter vertical post. This is one of clamps that is designed for 1/2 diameter bar rather that 3/8 to 3/4 inch diameter bars. THe problem with it is the tiny square set screws. I replaced those with knurled thumb screws. I also wanted to use a 3/8 diameter boom arm. So one of the bar holes was fitted with a 1-1/2 inch long 1/2x3/8 bronze bearing. Then the set screw hole was re-drilled and tapped through. Then I put a 1/4-20 mini ball head on the end of the arm. PERFECT !Dimensions:Outside Diameter: 20.5mm (0.807 inches)Inside Diameter: 12.9 mm (0.508 inches)Body Length: 39.5 mm (1.55 inches)Body Width: 37.1 mm (1.46 inches)Set screw length: 9mm (0.354 inches)Set screw thread: number 10 by 32 threads per inchWeight: 100 grams (without set screws)deduct one star for the silly square head screws
