Works with all three of our pugs
We have been using TropiClean Fresh Breath drops for years. They’re very expensive for a tiny 2.2oz squirt bottle. You put about 6-7 squirts in a large dog bowl of water and that goes fast—especially if you have three pugs (as we do).So when we saw this Honest Paws rinse and realized that for $3 more, you get two large 16 ounce bottles you add to their drinking water, we were quite excited. The Honest Paws requires you mix a lot more rinse into the water. For our large bowls it was 5 capfulls per bowl as opposed to 6 tiny squirts from their old one.We have three pug dogs who have varying levels of fussiness regarding their food so I figured we had a pretty good sample of dogs to test it on. Since we have a pair of large bowls I filled both, one of each type of rinse. The Honest Paws in the right hand bowl. The first day they favored the Tropiclean but on the second day our boy dog Bruce sampled the Honest Paws and seemed OK with it.Next time I refilled both bowls I switched them around so Honest Paws was on the left and both Alice and Monkey drank from the Honest Paws bowl. Bruce drank from both. After a few days I noticed that all dogs were drinking from either bowl but favor the left hand bowl. It doesn’t really matter which rinse is in which bowl.ConclusionAll our dogs will drink the Honest Paws rinse. It is odorless to humans. I never tried to taste it. But I got the definite impression that my dogs could tell it was different because they were a little suspicious of it the first couple of days. I was actually wondering if I would continue using it. After a couple of days they all drank from both the bowls.I also noticed Bruce’s breath was a lot fresher than it had been. He was the first to get used to the Honest Paws. The girls followed a couple of days later.Despite needing 5 capfuls of Honest Paws it does seem to last. We have been using it a couple of weeks and are barely 1/3 of the way through the first bottle. So not too bad. We may keep using it. Half the time we bought Tropiclean from our local pet store, and half the time on Amazon. I can see us buying the Honest Paws on Amazon but settling with Tropiclean if we just happen to be running out at the same time as our dog food run to our local Pet Department Store.

Honest Paws Rinse
My dog’s breath is okay because she eats Milk Bones but I still worry about her teeth. Also, she’s a Newfie and her drool is pretty funky. And there’s lots of drool. This sounded like a good solution.PROS: It looks like water. I didn’t notice a smell. The price isn’t bad for two bottles. Since you only need to use a capful, it’s sure to last for a long time. I have noticed some improvement in the drool smell.CONS: Despite being odorless, colorless, and flavorless, I suspect that my dog thinks something is off. She loves her water. I usually refill her bowl several times a day, but since I’ve been adding this to her water, she seems to be drinking less. I’ve pondered it and can’t think of any other reason why she’d be drinking less. You have to clean the water bowl every day. While I rinse my dog’s bowl every day, I don’t wash it that often. While using this product, I’ve noticed a thick, clear slime in her bowl at the end of the day. At first, I thought it was saliva, but it seemed thicker than usual. Perhaps some property of this product makes it thicken.3.5 – 4 STARS: I don’t use the rinse every day. It works better for me and my dog that way.

A great idea for pets' water bowls; wish it didn't have polysorbate 20
I'm a little conflicted about using Honest Paws Water Additive Tartar Control Formula in our pets' water bowl because it contains polysorbate 20, which is labeled as a carcinogen. However, I'm hopeful that a small capful of this stuff, within a water bowl that has more than eight ounces of water, is diluted enough that it won't harm our pets' long-term health.Other than that, I have to admit this water additive is a good idea. It's odorless and flavorless, so neither our cat or dog seem to notice it's in there. I was most worried about our cat somehow noticing it and turning up her nose at the water, and yes, I know this additive is labeled "for dogs." But our cat has tartar issues (we need to get her teeth cleaned), and I didn't think this liquid would harm her, which it hasn't. She still laps up her water. The liquid resembles water and smells like nothing, just like it says on the bottle. It's great how it helps pets' breath, and I'm most grateful for that fact when it comes to our dog. Overall, I do like this additive and would have given it four stars if it didn't have polysorbate 20.

Seems to Keep Dog's Breath in Check
I always find it difficult to wrap my head around a scentless or tasteless formula helping with our dogs' breath. All three of them have had their moments of bad breath, but this supplement in their water seemed to help quite a bit. When looking at a wide variety of additives as we have done in the past, it is important that the diet and other activities remain similar so that there is not something else found to be the cause for the sudden improvement in the doggy breath. All things equal, this formula seems to do more than "most" we have used. Some have resulted in better breath, but the cost effectiveness was not quite there. What I recommend doing with a formula like this is supplementing it with a dental chew. Towards the end of our second bottle of this formula, we started supplementing with dental chews. We now have two dogs who are "allowed" to give kisses and the third is making her way to being there - as we have "smelled" marked improvements in her puppy breath. All said, this is a product worth checking out.

Not minty, no scent. Seems to be working so far.
I'm horrible about remembering to brush my dog's teeth regularly so I love the convenience of this water additive. I've tried something similar before and my dogs refused to drink the water. They don't seem to notice that I've added this one to their water. I've used this on 4 bowls of water so far and they both didn't seem to mind the flavor.I'll have to update after a few months of using this, but so far it seems to be helping with my smaller dogs tarter buildup. My bigger dog doesn't usually have that issue. This doesn't seem to help with their breath so far but I need to use it longer to really be able to tell a difference.
