Philips Norelco Nose Trimmer Series 3300, Nose and Eyebrows, 2 Eyebrow Combs, NT3355/49

As long as your expectations are not unrealistically high, you should be very happy with this ear and nose hair trimmer. I've owned a number of these devices over the years, and all ended up either in a box somewhere, donated, or thrown away because they simply did not work. This included some moderately expensive models from major brands, Well, this Philips device actually works, and works WELL. And I say that with surprise, because, for of all these models I've unsuccessfully tried, this one actually DOES work, and, as a follow-on, it is so reasonably priced. This device will trim closely to the skin and will do so with no grabbing or pulling (yes, the ads are true), and with little to no abrasion on the skin. I have not used the supplied attachments for eyebrows yet (because that's not what my need was), but I have no reason to believe that they are not effective, as well.Another nice thing about this device is that it is powered by a single AA battery. You don't have to fumble with recharger bases and equipment, and you never have to worry about "memory effect" for a rechargeable n-cad battery (only the more expensive trimmers will use lithium ion battery which has no memory effect). When your battery finally gives out, you just replace it with a fresh one. For this type of device, I like that very much. A minor complaint is that twisting the device to the "on" position is sometimes a bit difficult, and it's easy to make the mistake of turning it in the wrong direction, which ejects the battery. A minor design flaw that I can't bring myself to complain about because of the device's performance and price.The trimmer is comfortable to hold. You turn it on by twisting the lower half of the base (as referenced above). It is partially waterproof, meaning you can rinse it off with flowing water from the tap if you need to do that (but I doubt you will). A protective cap is also supplied to help protect the cutters.So, considering price, functionality, comfortable hold, and the use of a standard AA battery, I would rate this as a five-star device. It is the first--no, ONLY-- such device I've ever been satisfied with.

No problems trimming nose and ear hair. Also handy for back of the neck.. Highly recommend...

Initial comments prior to use....Seems better made than the old trimmer I was using. Feels more substantial in your hand.Perhaps more powerful given it uses a AA battery while my old one was AAA battery (and the trimmer was very old)The rubber grip on the unit will make it easier to hold and will help accidental dropsHowever, the pictures clearly shows that this trimmer comes with a protective blade cap and 2 eyebrow combs. Be aware that THERE IS NO PROTECTIVE CAP with this unit. To be fair, the product description doesn't mention a protective cap, but it would be nice if the pictures reflected what comes with the product. I travel a lot so the cap would have really benefited me to protect the blades.Also, the trimmer is round and will roll away if your counter or sink area is not level. But the bottom of the trimmer is flat, so it you don't mind standing it upright, that solves the roll-away concernI'll update this review once I have used the unit for a while

Had one of these, it finally died. I couldn't find the same model at the local stores so I bought a different brand that had an eyebrow comb. It isn't as powerful or 'smooth', and the eyebrow comb doesn't work well (something I never thought I'd use until I had one). So I ordered this one from Amazon. Should have looked here first, although I put the other in my truck so if I get a nose tickler during the day I don't have to use tweezers.

This trimmer does the job surprisingly well, both on the nose on on eyebrows. I tried another design (with a round head), which kept pinching and pulling hairs all the time and making the experience quite a bit of a pain. I was hesitant to try this one since it looked like the the cutting blade would be more exposed and I could risk cutting the skin. But it turned out to be very smooth and efficient, particularly for the hose hair. Seems like a far superior and safer design. For eyebrows, I used the supplied comb attachment (without it I thought it would cut to short). It is washable (on its tip), which is a big plus.

These do not really meet my needs for a trimmer. The actual trimmer part of the head is simply too short to be of much use and the part of the trimmer above the blade sticks out too far to make for an effective trimmer. They work the way they should, but the design is not adequate for doing eyebrows. Even after multiple passes they still do not clip well. Have to continue looking...

PRO:1. Works great, love Narelco brand.2. Larger than the last one, so feels more rugged / sturdy.CON:1. Battery that comes with it is weak and ran out fast.2. The combs are better this time around, but not great, they may still dry-out and break like the last model.OTHER:1. Works for daily use, both nose and ear.2. Wish the combs were metal or better made, they wear out faster than the device does.3. Wish Norelco would sell just the combs so we don't have to buy the whole thing.

This product is a disgrace for Philips Norelco - very weak, it DOES pull the hair, it is difficult to turn on and off - in general a poor quality product. I considered purchasing the NT5180/15 but it is not possible to get any information from the company - they have many models that are so similar with one another and it is not possible to tell the difference in terms of power - NO MORE PHILIPS NORELCO FOR ME !!! I also have 55" Philips "smart" TV that Sucks - So NO MORE PHILIPS PERIOD !!!

Das ist der mit Abstand beste Nasenrasierer. Seine Funktionsweise ist allen anderen technischen Lösungen, die ich kenne, weit überlegen. Er rasiert ohne Vorsätze tief, ohne das man eine Verletzung riskiert. Auch die Reinigung ist unter laufendem, möglichst warmem Wasser, ist denkbar einfach. Die Materialqualität ist einwandfrei. Der Preis ist m. E. dafür wirklich günstig.

I was a little terrified by the idea of sticking electrical things with blades up my nose and in my ears, but the random and rampant sprouting hairs of middle age convinced me that this was a fear I needed to face. This little Philips gizmo is excellent. I can happily poke it and prod it at all kinds of angles in both orifices, and it efficiently trims all the hairs away, without ever nipping, pinching or cutting anything it shouldn't. And the eyebrow trimmer attachment turned out to be the product I never knew I needed while needing it all along. I'm a very happy customer.
