Hopeful, but initially disappointed....
I bought this product to replace a Schlage push button lock that you can find at Lowe's for about $99. I had the Schlage lock for about 3 years and it started to have some issues with the turning mechanism not disengaging after locking from outside.I thought that I would give this lock a try. It is similar to the Schlage, but it can connect to WiFi for management of codes and history tracking. In my situation of a beach vacation rental, these added features are BIG.PRO:looks goodLock hardware appears to be on par with other major lock manufacturers. Not having to buy a Z-wave interfacelow monthly monitoring costswebsite appears to be semi-logicalCON:Instructions were not clear on the right/left handed process. Use code 140 - I found this tip in another review.Lock seemed to become confused and almost useless. I took a battery out, held the 0 button down as I reinserted last battery to get it out of its almost non-responsive mode.Any action taken on web interface seemed to not be implemented.Seemed to be no FACTORY RESET to start overAt the moment, the web interface can see the lock, but can't do anything. I can program codes on the keypad itself to get by. So it would appear that I have spent $250 to replace a $99 lock. So it works a little bit. I would also like to add that I have installed several locks before and this was the most frustrating by far - due to the poor instructions on the right/left hand process. To be fair, I have not yet attempted to contact support. I am hopeful that my questions will be answered and that I can revise my review because I really want to like this product. If things do not work out, I will be returning it.Update: I eventually got in touch with support. They were helpful. I would recommend that you keep in mind their support hours when installing the device and know that their response may not be immediate. They set the expectation of 2 business days. I also installed a WiFi extender to help boost the signal which helped a lot.

I would recommend this product if you have good internet capability
I would recommend this product if you have good internet capability.Frankly, I was initially leery about buying a wifi lock of any kind. I have had this lock for a couple of months now. I have been very happy with this product. Granted, I have not had it long enough to determine if the battery drain is significant (as some others have reviewed). I have my lock set to check with website every 3 hours (the longest setting). If it had an option to check once per day, I would use that setting.PROs:It runs on batteries (you don't have to deal with providing power)Install and setup pretty easy, given you follow the instructions. The codes are stored on the lock as well as on the web, so existing codes will allow you in if internet is lost.Anytime a key is pressed, it communicates to website for additional setup.Alerts when proper code is used with lock.Web interface is decent.CONs:It runs on batteries (you have to change the batteries from time to time)The buttons are a bit mushy, so it is sometime difficult to tell if you pressed a button or not.It does not alert on a failed attempt to unlock door. (my wishlist not a failure of the product)It does not alert when a bump attack on the lock is made. (my wishlist not a failure of the product)No option to automatically re-lock door after opening. (my wishlist not a failure of the product)No positive lock feature (my wishlist not a failure of the product)Web interface does not provide capability to duplicate lock settings to another device (my wishlist not a failure of the product)

LockState LS-500i-DB-PB wifi dead bolt lock
This is my second one to purchase and I will purchase a 3rd one in the near future. They are easy to install and program. The 2 that I purchased have been outstanding!I’ve changed my Review from 5 stars to 1. Because my three DB 500i no longer work remotely. Their modes that I have no longer works with their program. They are willing to sell me new ones for $100 each. I tried to get them to sell me three at &500, since I have been paying them for service over these many months. I kept my end of the deal and I think Lockstate should have taken my offer since I had nothing to do with their changes. I really think they should replace them at no charge. It is now time to look at different companies for WiFi Locks that will stand by their locks. I’m disappointed in Lockstate for not keeping their deal.

I bought this for my new vacation rental so I could manage access to our home for my guests and cleaning crew remotely. Once I got it set up it has made my job so much easier. I also pay the monthly fee (it's only about $2) to use their software to help manage all of the codes for my house guests and love it! I am able to create codes from my computer or phone app and track who enters the house at specific dates and times. The system also sends me text message alerts to my iPhone when someone enters the house. So glad I made the investment.
