A great Fist of the Northstar series game!
With the launch of just about every new video game console, a Fist of the Northstar video game is not far behind. Some have been lackluster, while others like Fist of the Northstar for the PS3 demonstrates the way the classic manga ought to have been treated all along (by way of the Dynasty Warriors series, where one fighting many is the name of the game and a staple of the series).Sometimes however, those Fist of the Northstar games do not reach a worldwide audience. Thankfully, PSP and PS3 users and international fans of the series do not have to mourn their exclusion. Since neither system has regional coding restrictions, you can play a Japanese game no matter what kind of PS3 or PSP you have or where you live. Hardcore gamers go beyond the North America market to find gems that can only be had in Japan. Import Gaming Companies like Play-Asia make it possible for worldwide audiences to enjoy Japanese market only titles.Having said all this, the PSP installment of Fist of the Northstar is a great entry into a considerable list of series titles. With unique and stunning graphics (similar to Borderlands) and easy to manage game play (think Mortal Combat), this title aims to please. What is truly unique about this game, is that this one does not center on Kenshiro, the hero of Fist of the Northstar, but rather is based on a spinoff called the Legend of the Dark Kings (available on DVD and Blu-ray), which follows Raoh, Kenshiro's brother and arch-nemesis. Playing as the "bad guy" in story mode, Raoh takes on familiar faces like Thouzer as well as some new blood that may not be familiar to those following the original series, ultimately culminating in a final fight against Kenshiro. All the characters eventually become playable and the special moves sequences are also worthwhile additions. Players can participate in time attack, free battle, and survival modes as well. Finally, even if you can't read Japanese, much of the operational text is in English. Where it is not, the text format is similar to many games, and you should intuitively be able to figure out what a save screen looks like. The instruction booklet unfortunately is not in English. However, it does contain helpful button combinations pictures along with screenshots to show you how to perform hits, combos, and special moves. As a collector, this is a must have, and the price is reasonable. While many Japanese market-only games can cost in upwards of 70.00 to 100.00 USD, I grabbed this title for about 35.00. If you get the animated Legend of the Dark Kings movie too, then you can max out your experience. Happy gaming!

Only know of this game because I like Fist of the North Star
Only know of this game because I like Fist of the North Star. Saw there was a fighting game of the Raoh spin off, and thought I'd check it out. It sucks. I only have it because I collect this sorta thing. Playing it... Wouldn't recommend. It's too simplified, and it's that kind of simple where it's not even fun. Story mode is just...Wall of text, fight, wall of text, fight, ending. No arcade mode. Just that dull story mode, and a vs. All the characters play virtually the same, some just sound more annoying
