This wave maker really works!
I was soooo surprised to find that such an inexpensive gadget could be so very effective in keeping my 55 gallon aquarium clean. I have 2 very large pleco's that obviously love the food I feed them (Bug Bites Pleco formula) anyway, they defecate long strands of fecal matter and I was scooping twice a day in order of maintaining a clean environment. Also, housed in this aquarium is a very large Oscar. At first I only used 1 of the wave makers and I had it positioned lower down in my aquarium thinking it would help blow the fecal waste up into my 2 filtration pumps. I really didn't see a difference. So, I looked at a few Youtube videos and learned the wave maker was more effective placed higher up in the aquarium, I used both devices and have them located between my 2 filters and approx. 7" from the top. The cord is just the right length. I hope this product proves its longevity. It's quiet and it simply works!!!!

Works great
These work great in my 55gallon aquarium. They keep my black sand substrate nice and clean. Customer service was the best I have ever experienced on Amazon. Ordered the two pack, one was missing the plastic o ring, I notified them of the problem Saturday when I received my order, and I received the replacement Sunday afternoon.

More flow than expected from reviews.
The media could not be loaded. These put out more flow than many reviewers lead me to believe. I have one of these in a 55 gal standard tank and it is a little much for the fish I have in there (black skirt tetras and tiger barbs). I was getting some waste laying out in the back right corner, the opposite side from my HOB filter, and wanted something to increase the flow enough to move the waste, but not the sand bed. This does that job well, but now my fish mostly stay away from that current. Since I got two, I put one in a 45 gal wide tank where there are some faster swimmers, they don't mind it at all and it gets the waste out of the low flow corner in that tank as well. These do seem reverse rotation fairly often as others have pointed out. I honestly would have bought lower flow pumps if these had not been priced so low. The suction cups seem to work very well. My only complaint is that the pump cannot be mounted so that flow is parallel to the mounting surface. In other words, you can't mount it to the back wall of your tank and point it to the back corner. From the suction cup ring and ball mount, you get almost 45 degrees in any direction. I couldn't mount this where I had imagined I would. The people claiming that they needed two of these for a 40 gal tank were clearly doing something completely different than I am. I would have thought this would be way too much for a tank that size.I made a short video, the pump gets switched on at about the 3 sec mark, you can see the fake plants on the right start to move and then some waste swirls up along the front in the middle. I have an acrylic deflector around the HOB filter that this pump is mounted to since I couldn't mount it on the back wall and point it at the back corner as I had hoped. This pump puts out a little more flow than this video really shows, but you can see that the sand bottom doesn't get disturbed.

Powerful and Inexpensive
Powerful little guys! For the price, these are exceptional. They seems to slow down a little bit over time, so definitely cleaning them is important. I usually install them on the same side as the filter intake, pointing the jet upwards a little. This creates a vertically circular stream that pushes waste around the tank and into the filter intake. For the price, I am really happy with this product. You can get the same results with these as you would with a $80 or more circulation pump.

Not bad...
These are really good wavemakers for the price, however, I was expecting something a bit more powerful. I have two running on a 38-gallon tank. It moves the water, but it just seems a bit weak. There is no way it is rated for 528 GPH. No way. I was more expecting to see a Tsunami in my tank with just one of these, but at best, it is only but a very gentle current. The fish seem to like it, but I was wanting more current for them to get some exercise.Word of caution - Do not use with small fish (such a neon tetras) or you will turn your aquarium into a scene from Texas Chainsaw Massacre. There will be tiny fish parts strewn all over your tank! Also, watch out for slower fish with long narrow fins such as Angelfish as their fins can get sucked in as the holes are a bit large.I need a wavemaker that is hurricane-force rated as my fat fish could use a good workout (No more than a Category 2 Hurricane as I wouldn't want them to drown!) It would be like an aquatic treadmill of sorts on steroids...These are actually not bad for the price, but they are somewhat noisy. They give off a low-pitched humming sound that can be quite annoying if the house is quiet. I just use them in the evenings for a few hours then shut them off.

Great Bargain
I use 1 fan in my 30 gallon tank and it produces what I would call the perfect amount of flow. I sometimes have a problem with a protein buildup on the surface of the water and it breaks it up within a few a hours making the water look great again. And on top of all of this it comes with two fans. So I have an extra when this one eventually burns out. Great items for the price!

It worked fine for about a month and a half
Buyer beware, I bought a set of 2 for my 125 gallon tank. It worked fine for about a month and a half. I would use it for a few hours per day to give my Clown Loaches and roseline sharks some exercise. The cable is extremely short and I had to use an extension cord on one of them.I noticed that when plugged in it will sometimes run in reverse. No big deal as unplugging it and replugging fixes this.Today I noticed it just stopped working period. Tried a couple of different outlets and it's not working.Looks like I am out of luck since it's been about a month and a half since I purchased this. I would not buy this again and will be staying away from this Sun Sun going forward.

Recommend
After reading a few reviews saying people were getting a few non working ones, or only one of the two worked i was skeptical. But the price is what made me give it a chance.Straight out the box no issue. Plug and play basically. Great flow. Great suction, read people were having trouble with suction. Release the lever, push tight to wet glass, then compress lever while pushing to glass, thing holds true and I've had no issue with it slipping or falling.Overall glad i took the chance considering its a budget friendly power head. Well worth it and they're working well for me. I have both running in a 60G reef tank.

Great for price just 1 little niggle...
So for the price it's amazing only thing I found is if you turn them off they run in reverse when starting back up... Easy fix just turn them on and off until it spins the right way... Other than that brilliant bit of of kit for 12 pounds for 2
