An excellent general introduction to Islam by a Muslim author. Dr. Abd al Ati was a qualified scholar and a renewed lecturer in many American universities, he passed away in 1976. He directs this book both to Muslims and non-Muslims using a modernist tone with an ethical emphasis. The purpose of this book is to acquaint the reader with the basic teachings of Islam and to provide him an open-minded insight into the universe and the future of humanity

When I first began practicing my Islam, I bought this book to learn more about the religion and I thought the author did a very good job explaining the basics, as well as addressing some topics of interest. I would recommend this book to any Muslim or non-Muslim for basic how-to information about Islam.

I work sometimes in Daawa for Islam, Most of the non-muslim really like to read it even if they don’t want to accept islam. has a good information.

The author does a good job in helping me understand the historical, political, and social aspects of Islam. This book has helped me better understand the teachings and showed me that it is closer to Christianity and Judaism than I had previously thought.
