Dina Rosenfeld Sets the Record Straight!
Dina Rosenfeld takes biblical history and transforms it into an excellent story for children. In the process, she also sets the record straight.

Maybe Rivka Will Like it Anyway
Bought it for a baby named Rivka. Both the poetry and art are sententious and saccharine.

Feel good children's book with a deeper meaning
There are so many things I love about this book! The medrashim sources in the back are great.

Great book.
Great story. Read the bible, do the math, and yes, Rebecca was three when she married Isaac. By the way Adam lived to be 930! Things were a bit different in those days.

Pedophilia Glorified
Kind Little Rivka purports to be a Biblical story; and maybe, on some level, it is. But what story does it tell? Darling three-year-old girl betrothed to a man much, much older. Thirty-seven years older. If this is the kind of tale you want to tell your three-year-old, then this book is for you.

soooo creepy and not even based on the text
As others have said, this book essentially depicts pedophilia: old man is hanging around the well with shiny baubles to tempt the kindest of the young girls he sees there. YUCK! And such a terrible message. What others have not yet said is that the "3 year old Rivka marries 40 year old Yitzchak" isn't even the plain text of the Bible, and is not the only, or most-widely-accepted Jewish interpretation of that text.I'm ashamed that this book even exists. A friend told me about it and I couldn't believe such a thing would be written as a children's book, let alone published and sold. While it is true that in the ancient world, consensual marriages would sometimes occur among teenagers, a toddler is completely different.
