Keeps you guessing
The story takes lots of twists and turns. While evidence piles up, it isn't always what it seems. Good read.

#abrknpoet reviews I See You
I See You by Mary Burton is a gripping thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The story follows Zoe Spencer, a forensic artist who helps identify the victims of a serial killer. She is shocked when she recognizes one of the victims as her own childhood friend, who disappeared years ago. Zoe teams up with homicide detective William Vaughan to find the killer and uncover the truth about her friend's fate. The book is well-written and fast-paced, with plenty of twists and turns. The characters are realistic and complex, especially Zoe, who has to deal with her own trauma and guilt. The romance between Zoe and William is believable and adds some warmth to the dark story. However, the book also has some flaws. The killer's identity and motive are revealed too early, which reduces the suspense and mystery. Some of the scenes are too graphic and violent, which may not be suitable for sensitive readers. The ending is also a bit rushed and anticlimactic, leaving some loose ends unresolved.Overall, I See You by Mary Burton is a thrilling and engaging read that will appeal to fans of crime fiction and romantic suspense. It has a strong heroine, a compelling plot, and a satisfying romance. It also explores some important themes such as friendship, family, and justice. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good scare and a good love story.4.2 stars

A fantastic addition to the series!
This was an interesting, complex, and intense story that will have you guessing until the very end. There were many secrets, lies, betrayals, hidden agendas, mysteries, suspense, and intriguing twists. It's certainly a story and series that you'll want to read!I have always loved this author's work, and had decided to catch up on some of them. Purely by accident I selected a book that ended up being the first in this series, which I'm not usually as lucky, and I usually end up starting a series in the middle. Lol! Anyway, I honestly had no idea that this was even a series, because none of the books are linked together as such except for after you request a sample, purchase, or borrow the book, and then it shows the next book in the series (at least after the second book it does this). I loved the first book in the series, and I am glad that there were more books to make up this series. If you haven't already read them, I would highly recommend that you start with Cut and Run, Hide and Seek, and then this book. There is another book after this one too. The first three books in the series are absolutely fantastic, and you definitely won't be disappointed!I would definitely recommend this book, series, and exceptional author.I have to say that it's stories like these that make you appreciate all of the Law Enforcement, local and federal, so much more for all that they do, as well as everything they sacrifice in order to do their jobs, and try making the world a better place for everyone. I know that these stories are fictional, however I know several Detectives that always have gone above and beyond and then some for all of their cases. They all definitely deserve our appreciation.

Thrilling and just a tad bit creepy-perfect Autumn read!
FBI Special Agent Zoe Spencer has a gift of revealing who the people are behind the skeletal remains through sculpture. The process is scientific but also intimate and sensitive to the degree that Zoe always gets attached to the people she is identifies and tries to get justice for. When she gets some remains that go back to a decade old cold case, she finds herself into a case that has more victims than they imagined. As Zoe travels to the victim’s hometown and finds herself enmeshed in a case that will bring danger to her door. Time’s running out and it’s up to Zoe and her on/off lover, homicide detective William Vaughn to bring the killer to justice…if they can stay alive to do that.Wow is all I can say about the latest thriller from Mary Burton. Filled with twists and turns you don’t see coming, the author does an amazing job in capturing the reader’s attention right off the bat. I SEE YOU is an action-packed thrill ride from start to finish and I was glued to the pages along side William and Zoe as they raced against the clock for a killer determined to keep them from catching them. The action started right off the bat and I loved how the author kept the reader in the dark about the case as Zoe and William got deeper into it, making those twists that showed up all more intriguing and surprising. The author does a great job in capturing the suspense of the case and the characters at center of said cold case kept me guessing till the very end.I SEE YOU is one that is multilayered and will keep the reader glued to the edge of their seats till the very twisty end. I loved how the author kept me in the dark on who the killer was and why. I found it to be quite a surprise and one I sure did not see coming. The characters were intriguing, multilayered and complex. I liked knowing more about Zoe’s job in the FBI and found it fascinating to see how the process comes about. The author does a great job in keeping the reader guessing and I, for one, can’t wait to see where the author goes next in the series. The cold case is interesting and intriguing as all the players made themselves known and kept me flipping the pages to see what would happen next.If you enjoy a complex thriller with intriguing characters, then grab this author’s newest book, I SEE YOU, second in the Criminal Profilers series. Each book is a standalone, so you don’t really have to read book one, Hide and Seek, to get the sense of the series at all. This is an objective review and not an endorsement

Good read
but three stars only because in the end they allowed a budding serial killer to go free. Skylar inherited more from her real father than his looks, she’s already killed her own mother and could be prosecuted but there’s little “political” impulse to prosecute her because she’s experienced a lot of trauma. Which is true, but my empathy goes toward those who will suffer from her anger and lack of impulse control that at near 18 is already ingrained. Not a satisfying conclusion to what was otherwise a pretty good book.
