FJMSecurity Products MEI-3499AS-KA Dust Shutter Cam Lock, 5/8, Chrome

Wanted key alike locks. These are standard size and fit nicely. The problem with them is: it's difficult to insert the key. With most locks you just push the key in. With these locks you have to line the key up with the center of the slot and make sure to push it straight in. Sounds like any other lock, right? No if you don't line the key up perfectly it doesn't go in. Also the dust door on one of the 2 locks I bought hangs up. Eventually I will replace these locks. I just don't want to spend the money right now.UPDATE: After a few weeks usage the locks work a lot smoother than when they were new. I ordered another brand and did an install, but went back to these because they are more compact and now work better after "break in" period. (And maybe I'm getting used to them now)

Excellent construction & feel. Unfortunately, the cam, washers and screw head add quite a bit to the overall length of the lock. I had to do some work to finally get the lock to fit in the space allotted. I also needed to get additional keys afterwards, and FJM was very helpful in working that issue out. So I'm docking a star for the length issue, but am otherwise very pleased with the lock quality.

Product is acceptable, With some extra work I was able to use them although none of the 3 I ordered came with the 1-1/4" straight cam.

Worked perfect for my project to add locks to my door handles on the soft top of my Jeep.

The key inserts and operates far more smoothly than expected. A good lock at the price. And that's all I have to say.

Item came without cam. All 5 of them. How can anyone use a cam lock without the cams? Ordered to meet a deadline, now was a waste of money and have not met the deadline.
