The remote control and the app are not worth bothering with. Sometimes you change the temperature or settings on the remote and then halfway through the night the machine just changes modes on its own. That only happens when you use the remote, though. The buttons on the unit work fine and it does get very cold and runs very well.

For years, LG made the Uni-Fit line for sale under the LG and, for around a $100 premium, Friedrich brand names. Those models were the only real option for many NYC apartment dwellers with crappy older A/C sleeves.LG still sells those versions, but Friedrich has updated their version of the Uni-Fit line. They're a little lighter and seem a little quieter. Not a big difference in dB (still around 60 with the compressor running), but the pitch is higher, so it sounds more like a fan and less like an engine. It seems to adapt a little better to old warped sleeves, too, with less internal vibration.These are incremental improvements, and I'm not sure the extra price premium is in proportion. But for it is worth considering. These units are made by a new Friedrich partner in China; it will be interesting to see how the longevity compares with the old LG models (also made in China, but by LG). The Wi-Fi is a little tricky to set up; when in doubt, follow the instructions on the app, not the ones in the printed pamphlet.

works like the older model did ... better the display is on the top now .. away from water drain ... new model has alot more blow ... low speed is a little loud for me , but will do ... the old model I had was the opposite too low ... hopefully will last another 15 years

Replaced an Amana 30 year old piece of junk with this fabulous unit for it to only last 1 year In Minnesota. Basically only ran from May to today and now it doesn't cool my area to an ice arena like it used to. It's 75 degrees and climbing. It was definitely the best thing ive bought in years. Never had an issue even when it was 97° outside. Ive gone through forums, checked for blockages, busted windows, a fire. Everything, gonna have a repair man come out and he will probably just tell me to replace it. 800 bucks, gone in one evening trying to watch TV after work.

the back grill does not fit on the unit correctly had to redrill the holes and the unit does not fit the wall sleeve (Friedrick's) correctly the remote control has no lights so you can't use it at night. i think there is going to be problems with the back of the unit, and it looks awful from the outside

Cools extremely fast and well. My old AC was set to 60 and would barely cool 500 sqft. This I set to 79 and everything is freezing. Extremely efficient and good looking. Remote control is a little tricky.Must Buy...
