Doesn't hold much weight. I bought it for holding van keys for my amazon job. Virtually the same as a cheap plastic leash if not less heavy EDIT broke after a month of heavy use

it is not as sturdy as it is advertised. it is not long enough to open my doors.

I use these in my purse to be able to find things that disappear in the frightening recesses of my handbag.

Bought for work vehicle keys to help prevent accidentally locking keys inside the truck. Parked and hopped out in a hurry, forgetting the keys were in the ignition and the string broke. To be fair, I replaced this one with a different retractable keychain with a heavier duty insulated cable wire and did the same damn thing only this time the cable broke away from attachment point inside the spool. So, this may suit you fine depending on your intended application but didn't cut it for me. 3 stars because really, what do you expect?
