The Royal Ranger: A New Beginning: Ranger's Apprentice

I love it. I can connect with the characters
I've been an avid fan of Ranger's Apprentice forever. I've read the first 10 books multiple times, probably three, I think, but this was the first time I ever read both the Lost Stories and The Royal Ranger. The whole series is timeless. I love it. I can connect with the characters, and I can picture what's happening clearly in my mind. If you've gotten attached to the world of the Rangers, this book will move you. The way things have changed over the years that we didn't hear about it the other books . . . it's incredible. The connections John Flanagan manages to create between his readers and his characters are incredible. I love the writing style. I love the plot. I love the characters and the character development. Surges of hatred, pains of sorrow, and bursts of uncontrollable laughter kept me turning the pages until the very end. This is an incredible addition to the series, that, if I got my way, would never stop coming. Bravo, John. This is truly a work of art.

Incredible
If you haven't read the other books, you'll get the basic idea, but there background of Will and Hault, and even the Brotherband books makes this series so loveable. My children, 11, 9, and 6 can't get enough of it, and we're now reading it a second time. Johnny Flannigan is a fantastic author, and I'll be honest, my wife and I read this not only to our kids but because we love is too. I cannot speak highly enough of this series. Absolutely worth every penny, 10 fold!

I liked it!
This story has a female heroine, which is great for an adventure novel! Enjoying the entire series! Still has the heroes from previous stories as well!

Wonderful Book
John Flanagan does it again. I have loved this series ever since my son asked me to read the first book in the series. I was so bummed out when he wrote the final to the series, then he came out with this one. This one is set some 15 years after The Lost Stories. Will is now the gruff Ranger. He has changed and is no longer the happy go lucky Will that he used to be. It is heartbreaking once you learn what changed Will. This book starts out with a punch and doesn't let up. Horace and Cassandra now have a teenager who is testing them. They are worried about how to make their daughter behave before something happens to her and they are worried about Will. Old friends get together they look to Halt for guidance and once again he does not let them down. This book brings back memories of the first books in the series. Will is more like Halt than anyone ever thought he would be and his new apprentice is headstrong, spoiled and self centered. I smiled a lot while reading this one.I really hope he does follow up books and maybe an entirely new series with Will and his Apprentice.Great book pick it up and don't let the fact that it is a young adult book stop you from enjoying this series.

Thrilling Adventure
This was a great addition to the saga. The characters were engaging and realistic. This was a thoughtful exploration of several themes like maturing, grief, loyalty, duty, and love.

WITH EVERY ENDING THERE IS A NEW BEGINNING
It's been 18 months since the death of his beloved Alyss. Will Treaty's world has become nothing but heart ache and shadows...and the need for revenge...revenge against the man who "killed" his wife. But, while his friends all worry about him and feel him drifting away, THEIR worlds need to go on. For Horace and Cassandra that means dealing with an out of control teen aged princess of a daughter. At their wit's end, they have no clue how to solve the problem that is Madelyn - Maddie to her friends and family. But the solution to THAT problem, as well as that of their life long friend Will, might actually be one and the same. But...that solution will not work for a "princess". What's needed is a NEW Ranger's Apprentice. For 11 books...and 8 years, John Flanagan has been writing stories about the world of Will Treaty and friends in the Ranger's Apprentice series. Now, taking a 16-year leap through time, Flanagan brings the story full circle as the apprentice now becomes the master and all that requires. Here are so many of those wonderful and humorous creations that Flanagan gave us as we watched Will and his master Halt find each other and develop into the characters that we loved so well. While this book is titled as book 12...and at the time many of the readers were distressed and upset that this was touted to be the LAST book in the series...as it turns out, it was actually the first in a completely new journey called the ROYAL RANGER. With 3 books out...and a 4th already scheduled for publication...as well as the spin off Brotherband series, there are a 25+ exciting novels that readers can lose them selves in...and hopefully...25 more to come!!!

Perfect Second Series Starter
Was a great novel all the way around, I cannot complain!Halt still makes me laugh even though he is not the primary subject of the book anymore and Will is absolutely amazing as an older man. Just like his mentor. Love them sooo much!Maddie is a different twist on the story, being a girl and royal. Like the fact that she is so proud of herself and then gets in trouble all the time with Will. Another real gem written by John Flanagan.Would recommend.

SIMPLY WONDERFUL
I recommend it as a must read for all RA fans. It feels like you are back in Book 1. I enjoyed reading this book. I was so engrossed in reading this book that I let my Kindle fall from my hands more than once. Deserves the 5 stars it gets. I would give it more stars if I had the option.

Amazing
Once again the book is amazing!! It's wonderful do keep on Will's life. However, it was just as living Will's life again. It was interesting, of course, but could be a little different.

The last book.
This book was excellent! It was the best possible ending to this beloved series. It added a new subject to the book and is filled with emotions. At the beginning of this book you are overwhelmed by sadness. It is magnificent how that is hurriedly erased and happiness is on its way. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and encourage more readers of any age to start reading now!
