Harrison is my new Book Boyfriend!
After reading book 1 I didn't think anyone could top Liam. WRONG! I also didn't think I would be okay with Harrison and Katelyn being together. WRONG!I absolutely loved this book... more than the first one! It took me on a roller-coaster of emotions, sometimes to the point I felt like I was going to puke. While a part of me wanted to smack Katelyn for her back and forth, hot and cold with Harrison, I can only imagine what it would be like in her position. It hasn't even been a year since she lost her husband, the man she had always loved and thought she would spend forever with. In walks Harrison and he makes her feel things she never thought she would feel again. And the way he was with her girls - SWOON! Oh my! Some of the best parts of this book are the interactions Harrison had with Elle and Payton and Katelyn had with Quinn! The book couldn't have ended better. It was absolutely perfect!

Harrison James is the latest Book Boyfriend for Me.
November has been a bit of a hard month for me in terms of reading as I have found myself DNF'ing too many books this month. Almost just as many as I have finished. So I decided to go back to the beginning and read some old favorite authors and books I have had sitting on my kindle to read for years. This particular series I had read Book #1 back in 2013 and have had the rest still waiting to read. I remembered how much I loved the first book, so was sure I would love this one and I did enjoy it and I also have a new book boyfriend to add to my list which I haven't felt anyone worthy to add for a few years also - Harrison James. Harrison is the main male lead in My Unexpected Forever and is a drummer in Liam’s band and a single dad to Quinn. He is also in love with Katelyn who lost her husband Mason in the first book and is now a single mother to her twins Peyton and Ella. I have to admit I was dubious of Katelyn as she was so judgemental and cared what others thought just a bit too much for my liking but she does grow on you by the end of the story. I fell for Harrison straightaway as underneath that rockstar and tattoos exterior is an amazing sensitive guy who just wants to be loved and fears rejection so much that it hurts him to the core. The other thing I loved about this book was that the kids - Noah - a little but mainly Quinn, Peyton, and Ella were featured heavily and kids in books are always so down-to-earth, honest, and blunt, and make the story more enjoyable. I am now looking forward to finally getting on with the rest of this series as I am sure I will also find them as enjoyable as the first two books in the series.

Read This Book Just For The Hero
My Unexpected Forever is a rare case where I like the 2nd book in a series even better than the first! Katelyn and Harrison are just.....so wonderful. These are two fantastic independent characters that are each fully developed on their own even as they are brought together. Katelyn's grief and loss is heartbreaking. It's impossible not to put yourself in her position and think about her loss and struggles in a very personal way. She is attracted to Harrison, though she struggles with her loyalty to her late husband. And Harrison. Harrison is about as close to perfect as a hero can get. He's patient, kind, sweet, caring, and without a doubt one of the the most understanding and accepting heroes I've had the pleasure of reading. You should read this book for Harrison alone! My Unexpected Forever is the fantastic continuation of the Beaumont Series and a terrific story in its own right! This book received a 4.5 Rating on BFF Book Blog. BFF Book Blog also uses a set of icon ratings. This book received additional ratings for: angst, butterflies, character development, hero, romance, steamy, supporting characters, sweet, tears and happily ever after.

Keep reading- it gets better, and the ending will be what you've waited for the whole time.
I really enjoyed the first two books in this series and I was excited to read about Katelyn and Harrison. Firstly, there were so many grammatical errors. Did noone edit this or read it twice?! Some of the story had to be read over to even understand what the author was saying " Katelyn walked away. I followed her as she got ice... Josie spoke to me as soon as Katelyn was gone".. Oh-okay, so you didnt follow her, you merely watched her or your eyes followed her.. Sometimes it never explained where someone was, and it felt like I skipped a paragraph or page, to only discover that it was the author who neglected the details. Secondly, the storyline got so old and pitiful- the author did not do justice to the Liam or Josie that we were introduced to in the first book. No one leaves their drunk friend behind after forcing them out for dinner. No one speaks to their best friend in that manner. It was not well done. The emotions were all over the place and made no sense. The 'drama' of the book was overplayed. I pushed through for the happy ending. The kids were the saving grace of this book. The ending was the best- not the very end, as that was just trite, but the finally working things out and communicating- that brought tears to my eyes and seemed more like the people we had expected to know in this book. I really hope the rest of the series is better. Also-stop hinting at the issues with Jenna. Either give her a voice or stop it with the overly pronounced 'issues' its not foreshadowing its just cumbersome. Overall it was a good story, and I would recommend reading it-just expected to skim a LOT. Plus the sexuality was way too forced and too much for this series. It wasnt necessary.

amazon took its sweet time in sending My Unexpected Forever through to my ...
I want to start off this review by apologising for its vagueness, amazon took its sweet time in sending My Unexpected Forever through to my iPad and I waited up for it to be delivered, but once it was there I made a start on it and I literally stayed up till after 4am reading this book, and like all books that grab hold and aren't review books, I focused more on the book than actually getting notes for reviews. I was hooked, plain and simple.I wasn't even finished on the first page and my heart was breaking, I want to hug Harrison. I feel so sorry for him, the doubts in himself and how he doesn't fit the mould for PTA meetings, or someone who you take home to meet the parents, yet wanting so much for his love interest to actually notice him and reciprocate his feelings. He is also scared to act on them, not wanting to feel like he is pushing the memory of Mason out, or trying to replace him in the girls lives. My Unexpected Forever is told in dual narratives, Harrison and Katelyn, we get to see what each of these characters are thinking and feeling, and there were times I wanted to lock this duo in a room so they could get their act together. Harrison has made a new life for himself and Quinn in Beaumont, Quinn attends school with Noah, Peyton and Elle, and I really like how this brings the children together and helps them form their own friendships and relationships. But it's not always easy for all involved, adults and children.Katelyn, Peyton and Elle are still coming to terms with losing Mason and learning how to live without him. While Elle seems to be coping better, Peyton feels alone and left out whilst Katelyn is struggling in how to help the girls and still show them how she feels. She is also torn between her feeling for Mason, and what she feels for Harrison, and the behaviour from Peyton doesn't always make for an easy life.My Unexpected Forever has all the characters we love from Forever My Girl, and I loved getting to see how the lives of all involved are so entwined with each other. They are all a big family and are there to offer support and love to everyone. Liam and Jose certainly have some words of wisdom for Katelyn and Harrison that gives them the push to make a decision. What Harrison does at the end of the book to show his love for Katelyn and the girls was such a thoughtful thing to do, and I vaguely remember crying over how sweet it was.My Unexpected Forever was a fantastic read, from start to finish. I could not put it down. I laughed, I cried, I mentally pushed people to encourage them to get their act together, and I may have cried some more after that. Heidi McLaughlin has a way of drawing you into the world she creates and not letting you go till the very last page. I may have been late to reading her books, but I will never miss one now. I experienced an emotional roller coaster ride reading My Unexpected Forever, and it's one I would not hesitate to get back on again.Something happens near the end of the book and part of me has come up with a scenario that might not even be true and is just my over active imagination but I am really looking forward to finding out if I was right or not when the next book is published. Heidi is of course keeping quiet about when that is.

beautifully written
This book is so beautiful, such a emotional story that pulls you into Harrison and Katelyn's world that takes you on a journey of family bonding, love, and healing.Harrison has the looks of the true bad boy rocker, covered in tattoos he wears a hat 95% of the time, but deep down he is the sweetest most caring man in the world. The relationship he has with his son Quinn is beautiful. You cant help but fall for a guy that loves his child to the moon and back. Quinn is such a old soul for an 8 year old, he is a wonderful character and hes pretty cool for a kid.Harrison wasnt looking for anyone to be that special someone in his life, he was happy with Quinn and the band, that was until he met Katelyn. Katelyn is grieving the lose of her childhood sweet heart husband, the huge hole he has left in her life and her 6 year old twin girls could never be filled shes not ready to move on, her heart still belongs to Mason. The bond between Katelyn and Harrison builds slowly, Harrison is so protective and caring of the children it bring such a lovely new dimension to the book to have a hero who is not afraid to show his feelings.Katelyn struggles with her feelings, she is so torn between feeling like she is betraying Mason and feeling happiness and love around Harrison, then there is the fact that she loves the way Harrison is with the twins, he makes them smile and laugh again, but they are Masons children, she feels that she shouldnt be happy that they like to be around Harrison.I felt at times that Katelyn was very hot then cold with Harrison and i wanted to shout "he really is a good guy" for her to give him the chance, but then on the other hand i loved the slow burn that made up there relationship, they didnt jump right into it. I liked the fact that we got flash backs as to how Harrison got Quinn, and how Mason was never forgotten, that we got to read small parts of Katelyn and Masons life together as Katelyn remembered him, that no-one wanted to replace Mason. The christmas gifts that Harrison bought for the Twins and Katelyn really touched my heart the thought he put into those gifts, I had tears rolling down my face my heart broke for Harrison he just wanted to love Katelyn and her girls. The chemistry was sexy hot for this couple, the whole motorcycle scene was awesome! The POV flipped from Katelyn to Harrison which was great you both sides to the story and feeling this way. This book leaves you feel warm and snuggly inside, It makes you smile, cry. The ending is lovely, it is just perfection to read, i thought i loved Liam but this book just knocked him out of the ball park Harrison blew me away the relationships with the people around him is just Exceptional. This book is simply brilliant and would recommend it to everyone, truly a feel good book.

A solid 4.5
Dealing with many issues seamlessly this book has a bit of something for everyone. There is drama from the ex, painful moving on from the past and the uncertainty of a future. Plus the blending of families and the weight of becoming more than friends with the danger of it not working and changing the whole group dynamic. A great read.

Excellent
The Beaumont series is well written and loved the books. I'm Hoping there's going to be one for jd. He seems very secretive and I reckon there's a story there too. I loved how all the books interacted and all the character's were in all of them. Although I presume that Sam was caught after being chased by the cops, I had visions of her wrapping the car around a tree but decided that would have been far too easy for an out for what she did to Liam. A must read series and will go on my 're read list.
