Taking onboard customer feedback, the xl version was launched in 2012, providing ultimate protection at a modest 30g. As with the original face fender it can be used up front, on the fork, or at the rear, to protect the rear shock and front mech.

Perfect fit!
Loved this. Fits perfectly. The green color matches my bike. At least now I could limit the dirt that goes into my face. It doesn't keep you off from any dirt but at least its helps.

super light weight face fender. Knocks down the splatter and does the job.
This is my second mucky nutz product. I already have the rear seat fender and its great. When I purchased a new bike I figured I would buy my first front face fender for it. It ships with black Velcro strips which I threw into my parts bin for later. This thing really should be installed with a black zip tie if you ask me. I have plenty on hand so it wasn't a big deal. Its a bit tricky routing the zip tie around but after placing a few bends in the zip tie so it returns back through the hole it is a cinch. So far, I'm very glad with my purchase. I just hope it holds. Just for reference my bike is a 29er with 3.0 tires. 29+ tyres.

better mtb experience
Simple, lightweight, effective front fender keeps much of the splash and mud off my face. Especially enjoy the added safety of keeping flying rocks off my face when zipping downhill. Easily attached with zip ties.

Modded this Face Fender for the Rear Wheel
I have a GT Sensor 2.0 dual suspension mountain bike, and I like to keep all of the rear suspension pivots as clean as possible. I didn't want a full fender flapping around back there, so I modified this to fit the rear suspension arm. It is at the perfect angle, doesn't get clogged with mud, and does keep a lot of debris from gunking up the pivot point areas. Sure, it is just a flimsy piece of plastic that you could probably duplicate from a 2 liter Dew bottle, but the fact that it is orange and black perfectly matches my rig (so the cool factor went way up). Plus, it includes a bunch of Velcro to make your own straps to attach it--it is easily removable for cleanup. So, grab your self a pair of Nutz (front and rear), and get keep your fork and pivot points a bit cleaner.

Good fit for my 27.5+ hardtail
Liked the larger size and color scheme matched my bike so I pulled the trigger. As far as MTB blink goes, It's not expensive, but for a piece of stumped plastic, eh...could be cheaper.Fit was great using simple zip ties. Did not use the included velcro strips. Will update review if issues arise.

Great buy!!!
Got this front face fender mud cover for my wife's (Giant Liv MTB) and it looks great! It fits really nice in between the fork suspension, with no issues touching the tire.(Now in my personal opinion not the same can be said about the matching rear fender mud cover). I will make a review on that one too...This was a great buy!!!

Mucky Nutz Bender Fender
As opposed to other reviewers, I intended to purchase the "Mucky Nutz Bender Fender", and not a handlebar although I have seen a picture of a handlebar in relation to this product... To clarify the issue, what you get when ordering this product is a "Mucky Nutz" brand, plain black "Bender Fender". It comes with instructions stuck to it on a sticker, and Velcro zip-tied to it for installation. That said, this is an extremely simplistic design, and it works well for what it's intended. I installed it on my Trek Remedy 27.5 and it has done well in protecting my forks and the upper portion of my down tube from mud and rocks. It will not protect the lower portion of the down tube, and it is not designed to. It is designed to protect fork shafts, and prevent mud from hitting your face, both of which it does. It stays out of the way, doesn't make any noise on bumps, and sticks and leaves don't get caught in it.The Bender Fender was pretty easy to install, and comes with enough Velcro to do the job. If you follow the instructions that are stuck to the fender, you will end up with the soft side of the Velcro against the paint on your bike! Nice! Tighten the Velcro enough and It forms well to the shape of the fork and gives good tire clearance. If you have realistic expectations of this product and take into account what its intent is, then you will be highly satisfied with this product.

No Mucky. You're Nutz not to have one.
Lightweight, Simple. Affordable. Easy to install. Effective. Couldn't help but notice the first time I switched from a 26" mountain bike to a 29er the rocks periodically buzzing past my temple and then it rained. Compared to the old bike, on the 29er I couldn't see squat. I'm pretty handy and after looking at a couple of YouTube videos I thought about making my own front fender, but for around $10delivered to my door, life is too short. Enter the Mucky NutzFace Fender. All problems solved. Best money I've spent lately. Installed with the included Velcro straps, but tie wraps would probably have been quicker and easier/ (Trek Excalibur w/ Rock Shox 30 fork) BTW, I was in no way compensated for this glowing review.

Too short for the front, useful on the back.
I bought this for the front of my full-suspension trail bike but found it too short to stop puddle splashes, although it did protect the fork seals. I replaced it at the front with the MuckyNutz Full Face Fender and moved this one to the back, attached to the upper suspension arms to protect the rear suspension hinges and it works well for that, though I had a trim a bit off to clear the chain. It's easy to fit, the Velcro straps work really well and the cut-to-size roll is plenty long enough for the 4 straps. It's very reflective on the sides.

Ok but nice if I’d received a new one not a return
This is the 2nd one I’ve ordered the first was fine does keep some mud off as seen underneath but not all by any means. Be a good summer guard I just don’t like the chunky big ones I think they look ugly. The one that’s turned up this time is clearly a return there’s a used cable tie on one part cut off and no fixing Velcro. The only reason I haven’t returned it is there were no more in stock and I actually have some Velcro left from the set I bought before.

Look good
This keeps some of the mud off not great for thick winter mud but helps a bit if like me you don’t like the big chunky guards was a bit fiddly to fix on but with Velcro they are easy to take off again to clean

Not for mountain bikes
Snapped during my first ride. Mounted according to the vague instructions provided, using the velcro supplied. Not durable enough for mountain biking.
