Well worth the time.. easy to prepare. Mild taste

Ever wish you could have exquisitely textured, richly flavored mashed potatoes at home without first paring, boiling, mashing and seasoning the potatoes yourself? You're in luck!! These potatoes are extraordinary. You just pour the mix into a microwaveable bowl containing 2 cups of water, stir, and microwave for about 3 minutes. When done, stir and enjoy. It's that simple. And they're absolutely delicious. There's nothing about them that screams "mix". On the contrary. They're light, fluffy, and yet substantial, with a solid mouth feel just like that of your favorite restaurant's. They're rich and creamy, with the real cheese adding that extra oomph that bespeaks luxury. And the other flavors are good too, although the Four Cheese is definitely my favorite. Wow. These dress up any meal at the last minute, or can even be a meal in themselves if you've had a bad enough day that you'll allow yourself an exception for the sake of such reassuring "comfort food." I can't tell you how many times having a package of these on the shelf to add to other foods for dinner has helped me produce a lovely meal in minutes instead of going out to eat. No pots or pans; no preparation at the sink; no waiting time; no frustrating mashing; no whole potatoes rotting or starting to sprout in cabinets or pantry. When we get to our last package on the shelf, it's an emergency in our house, so being able to order a case of 12 from Amazon (and at such a reasonable price!) simply makes life that much easier. Isn't Amazon wonderful??!!

I was dubious at first, "flakes" perhaps those are only for real flakes? Seriously though, the taste is superb they make up in nothing flat. HOWEVER there is one caution I would make, use a little bit less water than they suggest. Otherwise you will find that they are (for my taste) a little bit too loose. One more hint they keep well in the fridge if you don't use them all up, but prior to reheating them add a bit of water and stir.

Most of the time it's just me and I have health issues that sometimes make it hard to cook a big meal. These are easy to fix and quick and they warm up well in the microwave. 4 stars because I can get them a little cheaper if I actually go in a store but I'm trying to avoid that right now. Really glad I can get them from Amazon

Ok, I'll be totally honest, I always hated instant mashed potatoes, and thought their best purpose would be to spackle a wall. Then I tried the Idahoan brand, completely changed my mind. Don't even need to drown these in crazy to add flavor, they are very tasty. Well worth a try, and will save a ton of time.

When you make this, make sure you don’t use the full amount of water. It’s really runny if you do.

My housemate and co-cook is a nutritional freak, and even he is cautiously accepting of this product. I have a very dicey digestive system, and sometimes this is the best product at settling it down. Flavourful, EASY to DIGEST, accepts additions and amendments happily--it's my go-to meal on bad days.
