Sturdy and Adjustable Two Gang Device Box
I recently used the Southwire Two Gang Device Box for a home wiring project, and it did not disappoint. The adjustable depth feature was incredibly handy, allowing me to fit the box perfectly into the wall without any hassle. The construction is impressively sturdy, which gave me confidence that it would hold up well over time, even with heavy-duty use. It's also very accommodating for different types of wiring, making the installation process much smoother. One thing I particularly liked was how secure the box felt once installed. It didn’t wobble or shift, which is a big plus when you’re dealing with electrical components. The gray color blended nicely with the rest of the installation, maintaining a neat appearance. If I had to point out a small drawback, it would be that the adjustment screws could be a bit more accessible, but this is a minor issue given the overall quality. For anyone tackling a similar project, this device box is a reliable choice.

Shop Apartment Project - Great Boxes for Heavy Duty Use
I recently purchased a small shop to work on cars in. The shop is about 45 minutes from my house, so I wanted to add in a little apartment in the event I decided to work late. The existing shop had boxes that I have been using inside the living area, but I needed stronger boxes for the shop. That is where these come in.Pros:- Durability: These things are quality boxes. The difference between these and the blue, nail in kind is like night and day. These will hold up very well in a shop environment.- Ease of Use in Tight Spaces: Unlike the nail in type where you need sapce to hammer in the nails, these can fit in existing walls very easily. Just cut the drywall (or whatever material you have for your wall) slightly smaller than the box so it holds it in place, then screw it into the stud.- Marked location for wires: The wire pass throughs are marked for 12 or 14 guage wire, with an offset for each. Not something necessary, but it was a nice touch.Cons:- I found it difficult to get the box to stay in place while I screwed it in. The screws want to pull the box back. When trying to use these on open walls, you'll need to really hold it in place. It would be nice to have a set of teeth on the side against the stud to hold it in place.- Pass-throughs: These are the kind that you can press a wire in and have it lock in place. This is nice to keep it in while you are wiring, but I'm not a fan of these. They are hard to use and even harder to push excess length back in. They were also very hard to snap off if you wanted to remove them- Price: If these are not on sale or marked down, the $9 price is a pricier than going with the hammer on style. I got mine at around$2.50 ea, which was good pricing. This is also true if you are not needing anything too strong.- Useage: These are made for wood studs. If you need something that attaches to other material or do not have access to the stud, these are not for you.For my shop project, these work great! I know these are strong enough to withstand the constant use and potential hits that you find in a shop environment without breaking. I'd probably use these for walls that I'd have to cut sheetrock as well. This is a good buy in my opinion.

Excellent quality
Very good 3 gang box. Lot's of ways to install it depending on your needs. I installed between two steel studs for a set of bathroom switches.

Worked great in an "old work" application
I bought this in case the standard way of retro-fitting a ceiling mount for a fan would not work. Glad I did - there were technical limitations in my scenario that prevented the retro-fan box brace from fitting in my required location.Luckily enough I had this box on standby and it worked out great. Only a single-sided mounting is needed and once the screws are fully driven in, it's very stable. The only issue I found is that the box tended to want to move as the screws are being driven into the joist. A pilot hole will help here. I also temporarily added some large washers around the larger fan mount screws to prevent the box pulling past the surface of the drywall, which seemed to help.

Pleasantly Surprised
I have installed a lot of retro-fit fan boxes in old work, typically the t-brace style. This was my first of this kind. Much easier to install and just as sturdy. I like the fact that I don't have to worry about blindly catching the joists with teeth, or risk putting excess pressure on the ceiling drywall causing nail pops. The box is heavy duty plastic, the three lag screws really bite the joist. I'm quite confident it's not going anywhere.

Works great!
I was a little worried by the reviews as this was going to be my very first DiY attempt, and I bought two of these so there was two opportunities for my to mess up! But these were surprisingly easy to use and everything went smoothly with them, I have no idea how some were able to grind the teeth all the way down. Would definitely purchase again and recommend them.

Great!
Wish they sold these locally. Bought them in 1-4 gang sizes and have always been a+. They're deeper than the metal boxes so a series of larger smart switches are easier to work with too
