Leonardo. The Complete Paintings and Drawings Hardcover – 30 Mar. 2023

For the complete works of Leonardo Da Vinci you would expect to be paying a considerable amount of money. If you were able to view the book somehow, say in a bookshop and ( manage to lift all 5kgs of it off the shelve ) you would expect to pay approximately £70 at least. The book is absolutely beautiful, in every way. Leonardo's complete life in a beautiful book at a price so cheap it is damn well ridiculous. I have no idea why Amazon are able to sell this book so cheap but I for one is not complaining and I thank them wholeheartedly.The book contains ( well you probably know ) his paintings, scientific work and drawings with a number of items. Such as pencils and charcoal.You can see the book is complete in every way by the inclusion of ' doodles.' ( a lot of you haven't the faintest idea what I am on about have you? Well, you know when you are on the phone ( well, that is when you had to stay in one place and not have a ' Hands free ' you would stand/sit and draw the strangest things on a writing pad ( well I doodled.) These are sometimes turned into a number of beautiful pictures.I have never seen a book like this. You can tell because I have ended up writing a load of strange sh**.I am just unable to explain the incredible beauty of this book.( And I did not even mention the information given in the book. But you have probably fell asleep by now or jumped off the roof )Absolutely Amazing Art, Beauty and knowledge.

Wow - what an amazing book, and what great value at just under £30. It must be one of the most interesting and beautiful books I have ever owned. It's very large and very heavy and the sleeve design that turns into a book rest/stand is a great idea and helps protect the spine while reading. This book is all about the wonderful Da Vinci images re-produced in sumptuous colours - the stock is premium and the whole book screams quality. I will have many hours of joy looking through this book. If you think this might be for you - just buy it - you will not be disappointed.

I had the privilege of going to the National Gallery Da Vinci exhibition in 2012 and was able to view these beautifulPaintings.Whilst it is difficult to transpose the qualities of the work into printed form I believe this book has done so, it depictsLeonardo's art work and drawings in a faithful light.It is an beautiful reproduced book and goes into detail my criticism of it would be that it does not provide enough narrative on Leonardo for such a monumental talent a detailed narrative is in my opinion a must.Many know his work as he is iconic but little is known about him and I feel this elevates his mystique,I would recommend this book for those whom have an interest in the works of the maestro and those whomWish to view his works, it is as near a reproduction in print you will get to appreciating his genius.

This huge book, written by a renowned Leonardo expert, gives a through overview of Leonardo's life and a detailed analysis of his paintings, drawings, etc with many beautiful images (some unknown to the public). Only thing that can be debated is the size of the fonts in the texts, a bit small to be read comfortably for long time. I understand anyway that , increasing it, the book from huge would have gone to gigantic. For the price, a real bargain in terms of quality and information contained.
