Pretty good
I purchased this along with some labels so I could create my own, uniform spice jars. (I purchased my jars from Pfalzgraf.) This came up as a recommended item to go along with the labels.I received this email after I purchased it:"I just spotted that you bought our Chalk Markers through Amazon so wanted to send a quick message full of important information. Many people ignore our disclaimers that SuperChalks are for use only on non-porous surfaces and ruin their porous chalk boards. We do not want you to ruin your chalk board or wall, so PLEASE read the below information carefully. If you bought these markers without realising that they are only for use on non-porous surfaces - then please follow the link below to cancel your order:-------------------------------------------If you have read this e-mail after the product has shipped then please contact us immediately by clicking here:---------------------------------------------------Please quote your order number (-----------------------) and we will arrange for your product to be returned so you can be given a full refund.Very Important NoteLike all liquid chalk products, these Chalk Markers are designed to be used on non-porous surfaces. A non-porous surface is one that does not easily absorb liquid.Examples of typical non-porous materials that these markers ARE suitable for are glass, metal, sealed ceramic (NOT raw pottery) or plastic. Be careful that your chalkboard manufacturer has not painted chalkboard paint over absorbent wood. This will mean your chalkboard is porous and the markers will most likely stain and smudge your chalkboard. If you are unsure whether or not your chalkboard is porous then you may wish to consider testing. The easiest way to do this is by using the liquid on a tiny piece of the corner, leaving for two minutes and then simply applying a damp cloth. If the mark vanishes without a blemish then you should be good to go.DirectionsBefore use shake the marker well. Then depress the tip on to a scrap piece of paper and hold for 10 seconds. Let the ink flow out until it completely coats the tip. For the best results this should be repeated three times. Please note that only light pressure is needed when depressing the tip. Heavy pressure may result in bending or damaging the tip.Now relax and enjoy your brand new Chalk Markers. If you have any questions or problems please do not hesitate to get in touch so that we can help you out.Kind regards,JoeCo-Founder of Precision Kitchenware"I thought it was nice to receive the email - it basically reiterates what the description says but I guess they get enough people ordering and returning this that they need to send it out. When I received this I tried to follow the instructions but I had to leave it pressed down a LONG time before the ink would reach the nib of the pen (at least 1-2 minutes...SEVERAL times). One it did, it worked great! I wrote the names of the spices on all of the labels. The dry time can take a bit so don't touch it for a while or you'll smudge and have to wipe it off and rewrite stuff. I wish it wrote more solidly but in some places the pressure creates darker marks while in others a bit lighter.---------------------------------------------------------Updated review:After having used this pen for my spice labels, I have realized I cannot touch the chalk writing whatsoever. More than once I've rubbed off the chalk completely or at least a large portion of the type just by having a finger over it. I was hoping it would "stick" to the label a bit better.

Vibrant White Chalk Marker with a Continous Flow
Pros: Easy to follow instructions for the first use for those of us first time buyers unfamiliar with using these. My own usage has been for reusable chalkboard labels and on glass & plastic jars/bottles. The chalk erases easily as one would expect. Package was easy to open and the chalk is a brilliant white just like I wanted. The pen has many useful applications around the house. The fluid flows smoothly and continuously as you'd hope. Allow a few minutes to dry otherwise your writing will smudge. Make sure you shake and push down on the nib/tip until the liquid chalk appears. I thought I was doing something wrong but after about 2 minutes it appears like the instructions on the side of the marker said. Felt like forever but once the ink started flowing it worked like a champ.Cons: the Tip wasn't as fine as I thought it would be. So I was a little disappointed in that. So I have to write very carefully to make my handwriting legible, and I can assure you my handwriting isn't "chicken scratch style".

Slow Start, Good Finish
The SuperChalks White Liquid Chalk Marker Pen - 3mm Fine Tip - Brilliant Bold White Color worked pretty well right out of the package. When it first arrived the tip was dry as dry could be. After playing around with it, I was able to pull the tip out and flip it around to reveal a workable liquid chalk tip. There are multiple tips in the pen and to date it has worked great.I used this product in conjunction with a Quartet Blackboard to create a goal for an upcoming race (see pic). All in all, the product worked as intended once I flipped the tip around.

Great pen for chalk labels
I bought this marker pen for use on my chalk labels. At first, I really had to shake the marker and depress it for a good 10-20 seconds on a scrap piece of paper to get it to start working. You also need to let it completely dry before you touch it or it will smudge. You can erase the ink with a wet cloth if you make a mistake. It’s important that you only use this stuff on a non-porous surface (so that means NO chalkboards).

Bright white chalk marker works great..
So far so good.....it did take a while to get the chalk ink flowing just like it said in the directions. It is a nice bright white color with a rounded 3mm tip. I was able to write relatively small writing with it. It is nice and slender which makes it nice to hold to use. The lid fits on the end of the pen while using. I used it on a vinyl blackboard calendar which is located on my fridge. Overall, a nice product.

... it for a metal blackboard thinking it would work like chalk. It did as it wrote and appeared ...
We used it for a metal blackboard thinking it would work like chalk. It did as it wrote and appeared like chalk, but then we couldn't remove the ink...Not sure if it was the marker pen or the metal blackboard. Either way if it's supposed to work like chalk, it should have erased easy enough, but it did not. How ever, it is more precise than chalk and doesn't break or smudge as easy. Definitely has it's pros but it's a con if you need to change the text.

Worked good for me!
This chalk pen has a nice slim tip, that makes it easier to make finer marks on projects. This is best for NON-POUROUS surfaces. The item description says so... And the seller was actually pretty awesome and even sent an email alert before processing the order to alert me to this fact -of which I was not aware because I hadn't read the description fully. I'm guessing that they went so far, means most people don't either. I was planning on using it on a pourous surface... But I couldn't find another fine tip chalk marker- so I ordered it anyway, yes, despite being told not to.So- if you are like me:First- don't make a mistake. I outlined my wording in pencil first and then traced over it.Second- The ink is going to fade into it, because that's what the Pourous surface does. I inked- let it dry. Then went over it and it was fine.
