Alcon discontinued the best saline solution on the market.
Pretty much the best Saline solution for contact users on the market.Perhaps the best saline solution to ever come to market.Perfect bottle size, easy to handle, including using for rewetting (I personally do this instead of using rewetting solutions; haven't researched to know what's proper). Didn't irritate my eyes whatsoever. The manufacturer (Alcon) ceased production of it in late 2015.I have not been able to find a replacement like it. I've been forced to use Bosch & Lomb's "sensitive eyes" saline solution, which contains far more ingredients than Unisol, and is in a bigger and more awkward to use container. It is objectively worse in every way (and is potentially causing some "clouding" when wearing my contacts). We've written a petition to Alcon to produce the product again, but as of yet it's been unsuccessful.I don't know why they discontinued it, but it was a huge mistake. I wish I knew about it before my S&S subscription was canceled (just before delivery too, when I really needed it); I would've bought dozens.

Unisol 4 is the best; However....
Unisol 4 is what I MUST use! It is the BEST product for my Scleral Lenses. These lens, if you are not familiar with them, are much larger than the normal contact lens in that they cover the entire eye. They are for people who have damaged corneas & severe dry eye syndrome. I use the Unisol 4 in several steps of cleansing my lenses and then filling them twice a day before inserting them into my eyes! The Unisol 4 is used as my tears since I do not make my own. My only plea to the Alcon company is that they make Unisol 4 available in 3oz containers so when we have to fly it won't be taken from us. Those of us who wear Scleral Lenses must keep Unisol 4 with us incase a flight is delayed, cancelled, is a very long flight or whatever cirmstances arise that we would have to take the lens out and then reinsert them. We MUST have the Unisol 4 at that time and it MUST be sterile. If the original container has been opened then the Unisol 4 MUST be kept refrigerated or on ice. I hope Alcon will do this for those who must fly. It is a GREAT product!

Take Note of the Unscrewed Caps
This is a great product and a great deal. The size is perfect considering the 30 day shelf life once opened and the fact that the bottles are apparently TSA approved (although a bit bigger than the 3oz in 3-1-1).The only thing I would caution people on is that the way to open the bottles (start the 30 day clock) is to screw the bottle tops all the way down so the spike in the bottle top pierces the plastic bottle. When I first took out one of the bottles I noticed that the cap wasn't screwed on all the way. Before reading the directions I screwed it all the way closed - in effect unsealing the solution. I caught on pretty quickly, but I thought I would just warn others who don't read everything on the box before opening (like me). If you aren't careful, you might end up with all of your bottles unsealed before you intended to.

Use for Rinsing Dry Eyes
I use this for rinsing out dry eyes in the morning and in the evenings. I have had LASIK and after that the eyes can get irritated if I don't properly care for them. I also have learned that I have MGD aka blepharitis and I believe this solution keeps my eyes cleaner and keeps the bacteria from that disease more "at bay."I use this in conjunction with Soothe eye ointment (Soothe I use at night only). My morning routine is this: Wake up, wipe excess Soothe away from under eyes, rinse each eye twice with Unisol, take two q-tips and wet them with Unisol, use the q-tips on both the upper and lower lid margins to wipe them clean (be careful with this step as not to poke yourself in the eye). Then sometimes I will use the Unisol throughout the day, especially if I have worn makeup and any makeup gets into my eyes. In the evenings, after washing my face, I will rinse each eye twice with Unisol again and then apply a tiny bit of Soothe and I'm good throughout the night and into the next morning. The bottles are safe for air travel in the cabin too, which is great if you're not into checking your bag.I depend on this product!

Great product, great price
These little bottles of saline are great if you need to travel and need to use saline. I'm allergic to additives, so this works perfectly. The only reason I give it 4 out of 5 is the tiny, tiny tops. The lid is clear plastic and smaller than a dime, and you only get 1 per bottle in the pack. If you lose the top, you can't open the bottle without tracking down a needle or knife, which isn't always easy while traveling. And, if you get it open, you can't close the bottle at all without the matching lid. The thing is, I use these because I wear contacts, i.e. bad eye sight. I drop the lid while putting in contacts or removing them and by the time I have glasses on, the tiny, tiny, clear lid is gone. I do not want to crawl around a hotel bathroom looking for it. I really wish the lid was slightly bigger, a color, or they packed extra in the package. Also, it would be nice if there was a carryon size. This is the single reason I need to check luggage on some trips.

Too Big to Avoid TSA Air Travel Hassles!
It claims to be approved by the TSA for air travel, but it is 4oz which is over the 3.4oz TSA limit. I get hassled almost every time I fly with this product. Yes, there is a legal exemption for saline. But try explaining that to busy inspector. Now try explaining that to a busy inspector who does not speak English at a foreign airport. The main reason for this product to exist (it is very expensive) is for travel. Why can't Alcon make it in the size that the TSA actually does approve? If they did that it would obviously get five stars.
