I purchased this pack of discs because I needed to make a set of wood coasters with my laser cutter. Although I live in a forest and there's branches down everywhere, it is hard (for me) to get them cut and dried just right. They often split, are too sappy, or the bark won't stay put.These discs seemed pretty uniform and I liked the clear concentric growth rings. The coasters I had in mind play nicely with the natural rounds.These turned out to be better than I expected! The bark holds on pretty well (some of it came off in shipping, and a little more pops off if I force it or drop a disk) but it is otherwise quite adequate for this kind of crafting. I sanded the faces down with 150 grit and then hit them with a 150 watt laser. The wood took both raster and vector etching really well and I'm quite pleased with the results.Will probably order more of these very soon.

Very pleased with these. As statednatural unfinished wood slices" so if you require perfectly round wood slices these may not be for you. These are perfect for the projects I want to use them for. They are very smooth, clean, and the light color of them make them perfect as is or painted. Love the size of them too!

Wow these are just great! AMAZING quality! I run an Etsy shop (TheHowlingPoppy) and I wanted to add more magnets to my shop, which I hand letter and hand paint. I would usually purchase from big chain stores like Michaels and Hobby lobby, but each wood slice wood run up to $3 a piece & not to mention how much smaller they were. I thought I would give these a try and see if they lived up to my standards & they do! I will deff be ordering more. They are all around the size that was described & the thickness is perfect. No cracks or broken pieces. I am so excited to paint on these! They are beautiful!UPDATE. After a couple weeks 2 of the slices ended up cracking. I guess this tends to happen to wood as it continues to dry and break down over time. Still love them though!

I bought these to make some xmas ornaments. They were the perfect size and easy to work with but there are quite a bit that came split and a couple that split after being painted on.

I use them for coasters ,and this is a great value for them the are mostly all the same size . Which is such a plus .

The bark breaks off in some unsteady places.My dad plans to use the 10 I gave him for drink coasters & I told him I intend to use my under ornaments or figurines or photo frames much like doilies. He didn't think of that but it gives a more rustic & character.

They are prone to "crack."This is the fourth pack of these wood slices that I've purchased. I love the smooth surface. They are not too thick and are much more refined than the standard wood slices I've found at the hobby and craft stores. You don't have to sand them down because the surface is beautiful. The bark is also lovely. It's very soft and tends to break off but that's part of the charm.I decoupage on these woodblocks so I use several sealants on each piece, Mod Podge, Triple Thick and 2-part resin. At first I thought that maybe the pressure from all those sealants was causing them to "pop" and then crack. But then I realized that as soon as I unpacked them and exposed them to the air, they would continue to randomly crack even before I did anything to them. I live in the dry and arid climate of the high desert so maybe that plays a part. I don't know. The 2-part resin seems to stop the cracking once it dries but I would just caution the user to watch them carefully. I don't paint original artwork on these pieces but if I did, it would be pretty upsetting to have it crack in the middle of the finished artwork.That's why I can only give these a 3-star rating. Like I said, they are beautiful but I think that maybe they need to be just a bit thicker so that they can handle the stress of sealants and mixed media artwork.Oh also be careful if you put any kind of screw/screw eye into them too because that can also cause immediate cracking, The screw eyes I used were 15mm and that was problematic.UPDATE: I lost 9 out of 20 due to cracking. I took them out of the package and let them sit in my studio for three days and by the end of that time, 9 of them had cracked and are no longer useful to me.

Great quality wood! They we perfect for what I needed. I did a baby art project with baby footprints on them and they turned out wonderfully. Also, it came with the right amount!

Bought these to make ornaments with stencils and torch paste. They arrived quick and in perfect condition. Because of the nature of my craft, I was a little worried that once I used the heat gun on the piece of wood, they might crack, the first one did but I learned the crackling sound it makes when it starts overheating. After that I was aware of when it was getting to that breaking point and would pull the heat gun away, no more cracked after that first one! Very happy with the purchase, would definitely buy them again!

Used these slices to make a wreath for the most part they are good - did have a cracked one which is disappointing when there aren’t a huge number in the bag. Some of the bark does drop off making them a little messy. These are the larger slices pictured
