Quiet
Writing this review because a house guest that stayed in the bedroom this AC is in asked about when it came time to replace their window AC. Over a Year Later. This is a very quiet very reliable unit I've used at 100% duty cycle for a week at a time occasionally.

One of the best when used like a typical AC but WiFi App is totally useless.
I purchased this to replace an existing Friedrich AC that was in my home when I purchased it 15 years ago. The old unit still blew cold, but made a little bit more noise than it did years ago. After years of use, buildup and bugs inside started to cause the condensation to drip back into the room rather than outside. Note: the unit was permanently mounted through the wall (not in a window). I chose the KCQ06A10A because it had the same physical dimensions as the old unit and due to limited wall space, I could not go with a bigger one. Also, my experience with the previous unit, still cold after 15+ years, it was just time for a new one) Even though it's advertised as a Window Unit, the instructions do include a "through the wall" installation section. Installation of the unit itself only took a few hours with no device issues (though I did have to replace a spongy piece of wood at the bottom of the wall opening). Anyway, plugged it in and manually turned it on. It cooled the room down fast and is very quiet. Included wireless remote control works as expected.Went to connect up the WiFi feature (not really why I selected this model, but a bonus feature). First let me start by clarifying my background as a 35 year IT professional managing Server/Network for a top 20 Fortune 100 corporation. I understand and know how to set up network devices. The instructions for the AC WiFi connection were kluge at best. You do need to use a laptop or a phone and you do need to create a profile on Friedrichconnect.com. I turned on the WiFi setting on the AC (WiFi indicator started to flash indicating it was on). I created an ID on their site and went through the steps of adding a device by disconnecting from my network connecting to the SSID of the AC and configuring the unit to connect to my WPA2 home WiFi network. After reconnecting my laptop to my home network as instructed, I would briefly see the AC listed under "My Devices" in my online profile and then it would disappear after a few minutes. I noticed the WiFi indicator was no longer illuminated on the AC. After adding it no less than 5 times, it finally stayed listed and the indicator on the AC stopped flashing and stayed lit. However, the AC is completely unmanageable from the website. There is no data for the device (should have temp trending data). I cannot tell the device temp remotely like I should be able to. The scheduling feature on the site is made up of some kluge sliders that were a bit cumbersome to use though I was able to figure them out quickly. However, after setting the "Sleep", "Home" and "Away" points (limited to 4 a day, would have been nice to be able to Add/Remove points as needed), the "Done" button would not do a thing. If you leave the screen, all the settings just revert back to their default "Off" configuration. Tried it with a laptop, phone and even my desktop with the same results. I suspect it is a browser compatibility issue so I also tried with both Edge and Chrome browsers and still cannot save the configuration. May need to use an older browser like IE, I'll try that later.Tried the Android app and that completely fails to find the AC.In summery, as a traditional AC with wireless remote control, it should provide years of service. But if you are buying it for the WiFi feature, this should be a Hard Pass. I'm Rating it 5 stars for everything, but deducting a star from remote control only because the WiFi function is completely useless.

No WiFi Connectivity
One of the main reasons I purchased this AC unit was for the WiFi connectivity.I have spent several hours trying to connect the device to my home network using the new FriedrichConnect app.Whoever developed this app should be fired because it does not work. It is poorly designed, and the letters don’t even fit on the display of my iPhoneX.The interesting thing is that the unit does connect to my network; I can see it when I log into my home router. But the device never shows up in the list of devices in the mobile app, and the setup times out with the same message every time (see attached photo).I tried calling Friedrich Tech Support, and they were no help at all. They simply sent me a bunch of screenshots of the setup steps, which I had already followed over and over. The error message (see photo) does not indicate the issue. Since I can see the device on my network, that proves that I did not mis-type the network SSID or password. They app simply does not work, and therefore, the WiFi connectivity feature is useless. So far, the AC works fine, but when I pay this amount of money for a product, I expect it to work as advertised, and this one does not.I am extremely disappointed in this product and the lack of support from the manufacturer.

Super Noisy Due to a vibration
I totally dislike this AC. I purchased two of them and regret it big time. The Wi-Fi feature stopped working after the App update with no return to functional status. The noise is unbearable due to a vibration coming from the compressor. Also, compressor starts and stops with a huge kaboom! I hate this AC, and I would never buy this AC again. Just purchased a different manufacturer option for my dad, and what a day and night!

Quietest a/c Ive ever had
This is a very expensive a/c but after 8 years of use I`m happy that I bought it. It`s very quiet and built like a tank and can be controlled via wi fi. I sleep with it at night and it`s very quiet. Also Friedrich has a good reputation so I have 3 Friedrichs.
