Accuracy Meter
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Another tool that belongs to my "home owner must have" list. Not only it finds studs but also the measures moister levels in wood to identify leaks. One may find the probability-percentage meter for studs every useful. However I would still verify the stud center by probing a small finishing nail on the wall just for extra safety. It runs on two AAA batteries, tool-free replacement, unlike some tools that require more expensive 9V battery. The carrying pouch is nice and provides decent protection for the unit.It does have a bit of learning curve considering the functionalities and all the buttons.

More than studs......
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. There have been a lot of advancements in this technology over the years. This Meterk device is not just a stud finder. It will also pick up metal and live circuits, giving you the EXACT center of the stud. NOT the edge. That's pretty darn smart. I've already used it to hang some pictures and a VERY heavy wall mirror over the sofa. That's not something you want to take chances with. I trust this device. Five stars.

Helps finding good spots to hang pictures
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I am not a pro or typical DIYer, I am just curious about things in general and do very simple things to home improvements. If anything major, I would just refrain from doing or give up somewhere in the process.Nowadays I like to hang new pictures up on wall. The challenge for me is to find a solid wood behind my drywall because whenever I pick a spot, the spot very often has shallow depth behind it. It doesn’t provide much support. I end up making a hole somewhere else and refill the hole with toothpaste. The other good things about this device are:1. It runs on 2 AAA ubiquitous batteries.2. It has a slick carrying pouch.3. It also scans for electrical current. See video. I feel saver knowing that I am not making a hole that has a current running behind it.This stud finder helps me the beam behind my drywall to get the right location before I make a hole. That way I don’t make unnecessary holes and save time.cons:The instructions are not so easy to follow.

A Must for DIY'ers
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Just what I needed to help me with my DIY project enclosing a loft. I needed to find the roof joist to tie in the header and wall studs. Although I didn't need the "live" wire feature for this project I did play with it around the house where I knew there were electrical wires and, bingo! found them. Great value for the price.

Accurate
I have tried all aspects of this stud finder and find it to all work very well. So I can not say any thing other than what I wish it had. I wish the measurements were in Inches. I wish the Manual had LARGER print. And the last wish is I would like to see the stud finder have a soft back so it will not scratch a wall. Just to point out I did not scratch the paint while using this as I was careful but I can see this happening to someone. Overall this is a quality device!

Just what we needed
We are redecorating the living room. What I have been using to hand some pictures, tins was just tracks, neither of them are heavy and need to be anchored into the wall or use heavy duty nails. We decided the beer tins and pictures needs to come down and have some more grown up decor in the living room. Which means we need have a stud finder to ensure the new pictures are hung more securely. This works just as needed. It is easy to use and scans for more than wood in the walls. This way you know where the other things are inside it and dont hit them while installing new decor. It makes a noise letting you know you found a stud and also tells you if it's the center of the stud, with the percentage as well. One added features is it can also tell how much moisture is in the walls with a moisture probes. You can see if there is any water damage to bathroom walls, if there might be a slow leak from the kitchen and you need the walls replaced. I have used it in the bathroom and it wasnt as bad as I thought, but I've also used it under the kitchen sink, I've called the maintenance team to come take a look at it. Very good tool to have around.

Works..mostly
Tried to understand what the device was telling me from the instruction booklet, but it was hard to understand. It has a 0-100% slider that shows I presume the device's certainty that it found a stud (the only mode I used it in). It was oddly changing based on different passes across a wall. At one point, it completely stopped detecting a stud (actually showed 0%). I ended up drilling at that point anyway because it was 16 inches from the other stud, and sure enough, the drill dust that came out was wood dust, not only drywall dust.Either way, it did work for some studs, and never gave a false positive (it never said there was a stud when there was not a stud), which I would define as a device I would never trust.
